Texans looking to trade #1 Pick/Falcons most likely trade partner

Texans are dumb to pass on Clowney, the best way to get into the playoffs is to have a dominating defense.

what happened to the undrafted guy they had last year?they can always draft a QB in the 2nd but they wont find a DE like Clowney in years.

Case Keenum will always have a special place in my heart (UH Alum), but he was undrafted for a reason and probably needed to sit another year or two. He had a very up and down year.

As for Clowney, based on what I was reading, the Texans consider four guys top tier guys, which is why they want to stay in the Top 5. Not sure how enamored they are of either over the other.

Clowney, Robinson, Mack and Watkins or would it be Matthews I wonder?

Those first 4 are the "consensus" top 4, likely with Matthews and Evans as 5/6 I would think. Of course if a team was in love with a QB, they'd be in that mix too.

to me, it's Robinson, Mack, Matthews, Watkins, Evans, and then Clowney

I think Clowney goes earlier, but I don't see him in the top 5 best players...I go back and forth between Mack And Robinson as 1a and 1b

Falcons are a team that could make a run if they get a great like Clowney.

It may just be me but it's ridiculous to call a player "great" that has never played a down in the nfl. Great talent but nobody knows how that will translate until we see it. I question his motor and am not as sold on him as most seem to be.

and a quarterback...of which they have neither.

I'm sure plenty of QBs will be there at 6...or even 33 for that matter.

I kind of like Clowney better as a 4-3 DE anyway.

They'll pick up some high picks and still get a great player at 6.

They will need an OT to cover the blind side for their 2nd round QB

Guess not everyone is as impressed with Clowney as the Falcons are.

He would have to play OLB in their 3-4 scheme. I'm not sure if he would be a good fit at that position.
