True, it's easy to forget that some people have it way worse than you do.
Agreed.

I'm complaining about the patches of dirt in back yard and people are struggling to make ends meet.

That should not make you dirt patch any less important to you. :laugh2:

It's about that time of year, isn't it?

Should be a pretty rough season once September comes around with the heat this year. My dad will be busy.

Or a farmer watching his crops wither and die, or a rancher having to sell off his herd because of a lack of water this summer or not having enough hay to feed them in the winter. Prices on meat and vegetables will be through the roof.

I love your signature picture.

Got some early rain today...

Knocked out my satellite briefly...

I don't like driving in it, but I love the fact it's raining, finally.

you must live in an apartment or something.

I'll take the rain, don't get me wrong. I was just trying to make a point on how freaking HOT it's been this summer. Anything after 102* on a thermometer should just say "hot as ****"....lol

*and no, I don't live in an apartment. Although, I love NOT having to do yardwork.

just driving from College Station to Temple 80 miles yesterday I must have seen 20+ stock tanks completely dry. Damn it's bad.

Dad's only surviving tank, usually about 4-5 acres when full, is in really bad shape despite having a windmill feed to it. The other 2 are burnt dry. Even with the rain last week, all it did was close up the cracks in the ground. We need a nice week-long rain getting a inch a day or so.

What line of work is he in?

It might not take until September. There's a new INVEST low system in the western Atlantic:

It is looking like we will not get as much rain here in the Houston area as some would have liked.

I've gotten a little bit this morning..with another squall or two heading my way later.

I'll take it.

Same here. It is raining pretty good down town right now. Forecast for tomorrow though has been lowered to 30% decreasing to 20% in the afternoon.

Like you I'll take what I can get.

I'd be happy if we had a 20% chance of rain here.

Even knowing that means a 80% chance it won't.

We were moved into "extreme drought" condition earlier this week. Yes all the way up here.

You may need to invest in some indians so they can do the rain dance. :laugh2:

I tried to do it myself but the neighbors called the police when they saw me dancing naked outside. :laugh2:
