Texans rematch prediction thread

My prediction: Texans 28 - Cowboys 17.

Matt Schaub will have a great game, especially with stud TE Owen Daniels back. Not to mention the emergenceof Jacoby Jones. Can't forget Andre Johnson either. Arian Foster will tear it up, as he has been since late last year (Arian Nation is for real folks).

Our defense will be hurt without Cushing, but Al Sharpton's nephew (Darryl Sharpton) has been making noise in camp. Aside from the first three games of last season, Houston has had a damn good D. Lead the league in three-and-outs, top ten rushing D, etc. The addition of Pollard made it happen.

Don't agree with this. Houston kiled Cincy last season, for one. Houston can easily take their spot for the playoffs.
Your defense will be hurt without all the steroids Cushing was taking before he got suspended too. ;)

Don't believe me? Look at Lights Out. Now it's just straight Lights Off. :laugh2:

I know you were joking, but Cushing has never tested positive for steroids before or any steroid masking agent (that hCG stuff is nit a masking agent). It'll be a good game though. I wish it wasn't a noon. I thought it'd at least be a late game, if not primetime on NBC.

I agree. I'm really interested to see how our defense does against your offense. You guys are definitely good at slinging the ball around. Our secondary and linebackers better have good coverage.

Why? Even with Dallas playing, it would not be a marquee game for the network.

While I think you may be right that Houston will have a good team this year, you're nuts if you think Cushing hasn't been on something for a while now.

Game won by Buehler on a 45 yard field goal

Double Fix:cool:

David Beuhler once made a fieldgoal in RJ Stadium in Tampa Bay from the 50 yard line of Qualcomm stadium in San Diego.

Because of this, I predict he will win it with a 265 mile field goal. He will make it from his house.

Well, he has never (througout his entire football career) tested positive for any steroid or masking agent. Hell, the stuff he's suspended for now is produced naturally. He just had slightly elevated levels (which would have been fine the season before).

N.O.R.A.D. tracks thousands of objects in orbit.

This space debris is mainly composed of old satellites, fuselage, etc.

The agency has cataloged one such object as 238456-AWL-42-7G.

Ground based telescopes have confirmed that it is a football.

Currently, its point-of-origin is unknown...

Incidentally, Michael Irvin never tested positive for cocaine.

LMAO, you really believe this?

So it's produced naturally... So what. So is testosterone. Doesn't mean you can legally take it.

I'm sure you know this, but HCG is used so you don't go back to looking like this.

Dude is a roider just like James Harrison. Both are going to end up like Chris Benoit. :laugh2:

Cowboys at Texans is better game than the Jets at Dolphins.

I see what you're trying to say, but this is Cushing in his freshman year. Chris Matthews was the same way.

Jets vs Dolphins is a divisional game. Cowboys vs Texans isn't.

It's still a better game, but only because it's the Cowboys. They make everything better. ;)

That's a good answer, but it does not mirror the network's full perspective of its Sunday Night Football game of the week. Additionally, they are considering the long-term rivalry aspect.

Cowboys/Texans is a very young competitive matchup and has not yet gained true rivalry status in the NFL sense.

Both Miami and New York bring football rich traditions to the table. That alone attracts Nielsen households which the network expects.

Cowboys do. The Texans (which are not the Oilers a.k.a. Titans) do not.

The Miami/New York link connects an entire eastern seaboard television audience. Gaining a potential Eastern Time Zone lockdown thumps several options for four quarters.

Dallas locks down the entire U.S. viewership. Houston primarily locks down southeastern Texas. Does the network gamble with a matchup where national interest could wane before or even during the game due to one of the opponents? Can they sell that to their advertisers in exchange for maximum return on commercial ad cost?

The NFL itself makes the original schedule. It is their recommendation. If the network's potential viewership data correlates with that of the league, does it then decide to go against the grain? It sometimes does with flex games, but week three is not a flex week and the network knows beforehand that it will be locked into a Sunday Night matchup. Even the enormous appeal of the Cowboys cannot sometimes overcome every obstacle.
