Surprised nobody has posted anything about this.

We’ve become desensitized to this. It’s just normal to us that it happens this much.

It’s not normal behavior. White, Black, Brown, everybody is capable of atrocity.

Nothing will be learned. It’s only a matter of hopefully never having to live through it yourself.

Yep, the new normal is that every month or so someone is going to snap and shoot at an outrageous number of people.

When Charles Whitman killed 16 in 1966, the country was beside itself. 16 is now a piker number.

Not sure what number is high enough to cause a change in how this are currently done... 100? 150? 327? I don't know. Just seems like todays numbers don't do anything as far as creating change.

Do not take this post as being political. I'm not blaming anyone. Just know the current system isn't working.

It is a sad reality that we live in. There is so much hate fueled motive in this world. Humans have a very long way to go in mental evolution. The sad part is, what is the answer? Hateful people will do hateful things with whatever tools necessary to them.

I dont usually post opinions other than cowboys in this forum, but needed to say a couple of words.

This senseless violence and the media coverage making it a sensitive news item needs to stop.

Crazies were there from time immemorial, but now probably these nitwits are getting their 2 minute fame by taking out scores of innocent bystanders. Sigh !

How in the world can anyone be prepared to be ready for these situations?

What is our world coming to? I’m 63 years old and I am so scared for my children and grandchildren as things seem to be going down a horrible path. God bless those murdered and injured as well as their families. The world needs to wake up!

The world has always been a callous place regardless of place and time. Christians getting fed to tigers, Jews massacred by the millions, the time and places change but the outcome doesn’t.

Unfortunately, man will always be man’s enemy.

Yea, I'm 100% certain that nothing will change between this mass shooting and whenever next month or so, where there is another mass shooting (that actually catches the interest of the media)

I think this is the closest thing to any real explanation

Evil exists in this world and it always has....... it is up to the strong and righteous to help look after those that can't help themselves

We spend so much time demonizing each other over what team we root for, what politician we voted for or what church we go to that we lose sight of the real problems and enemies

I agree. The only people it's okay to despise are Eagles fans. We should make an effort to try to love everyone else. Life is too short to waste in bitterness and despair. Except if you root for the Eagles.

Authorities said that at least 23 of the slain were killed inside the church, two people were shot and killed outside, and one additional person died at an area hospital. As the gunman exited the church, he was confronted by a local citizen who, armed with his own weapon, began firing — prompting the suspect to flee in his vehicle.

“The local citizen pursued him,” said Freeman Martin, a regional director for the Texas Department of Public Service, who said the gunman crashed off of the roadway about 11 miles north of the shooting scene and was later found there, dead. “We don’t know if it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound or if he was shot by our local resident who engaged him in a gunfight.”

“This is a small town and nothing never happens here,” Segura said. “We are family here, and that church is always filled with friends.”

Frank Pomeroy, the pastor of First Baptist Church, told ABC News that he was not present during the church service but that his teenage daughter, Annabelle Pomeroy, 14, was among the dead.

Cut and pasted some parts of this article.

They don't know yet if the armed citizen killed the shooter or not...
A 14 year old girl was among the victims.

That just breaks my heart. This world can be so hateful sometimes.
