Derrick Johnson did 21 reps @ 225 lbs. Not spectacular, but solid for a long armed guy.

I see Will Matthews got his 40 time down to 4.8, on what was considered a "soft" track... he's looking more and more draftable every day, Rack... LOL...

Is Gil Brandt a Texas alum? I mean he practically slobbered all over the keyboard while typing that. And are we supposed to be awed by Benson's speed? Saying he ran faster than Emmitt is like saying a QB is taller than Montana.

What's with the "LOL"? YOu act like he's already been drafted... LOL

If you weren't a Texas homer you wouldn't be all over his jock. Period.

Yeah I didn't get that one myself. It's almost as if he were making an excuse for the average time, and making it out as if it were an excellent time or something.

He will be... count on it...

Actually, I like the guy because he looks like the second coming of Moose Johnston to me... he puts people on their butt as a blocker, he picks up blitzes pretty well, and he can even catch the ball (a little)...

*yawn*

Almost sorry I posted this thread cuz now it's just gonna turn into a UTexas lovefest.

C'mon, how am I supposed to know when your Texas Longhorn manlove is real or not?

It looks like Derrick Johnson didn't do anything to really elevate or lower his stock here. Anyone still think he falls to 20 like we have supposedly been hearing? Or at least in the late teens?

I would also be shocked if he dropped to 20, but why do some of the so called "experts" keep predicting that Derrick Johnson is going to go much lower than we think he is?

I hear people make references to Steven Jackson, who supposedly was suppose to go much higher than he did, but in truth, Jackson wasn't that great of RB, just ranked #1 in not a very deep class.

Maybe because they actually talk to NFL people to get their scouting evaluations instead of 31yearoldvirginlivinginmomsbasement.com.

That is what I was referring to, if these experts do talk to NFL people, and they say he is going to go in that range, why do we keep thinking that he is going to go much higher? I believe has talent to go much higher, but we aren't the ones making the draft selections.

I don't live in my mom's basement. She let me move to the guest room for my 30th birthday.

As far as why Johnson would drop, from what Gosselin said on Norm's show, NFL teams don't like the way Johnson is always running around blocks. They would like to see someone who can take on a blocker, shed it, and make the play. They wonder if he'll be able to just run around people in the pro's like he can in college. Look at Dat Nguyen ... there wasn't a bigger playmaker in college than Dat, and he always ran around blocks in college. Now, he's just kind of a read and react linebacker who doesn't make a lot of big plays but does a pretty good job of holding runners to 3-5 yard gains.

My man love of Derrick Johnson is quite real...

My man love of Cedric Benson is a bit less intense, largely because the Boys don't really have a need at RB... I still think he'll be a solid RB in the NFL, but I don't know if he'll ever be a Pro Bowler...

My man love of Will Matthews is mostly designed to get you worked up... you know, the way you try to get folks worked up by taking provocative stands... I wouldn't mind if the Boys took a flier on him in the late rounds, or signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent if nobody else drafts him, but there are other fullbacks out there I like... Matt Pagel from Wisconsin-LaCrosse, who reportedly ran a sub-4.4 second 40 at 240 pounds... Madison Hedgecock from North Carolina, a 260 pound converted DE... West Keliikipi from Hawaii, a 265 pound load of a lead blocker...

I have no man love at all for Phillip Geiggar... the guy's got no game...

My favorite FB is Zach Tuiasosopo, who has the receiving skills and straight-line speed to be successful in Parcells' offense, but he looks like a 4th rounder, and I don't see the Cowboys looking at a FB until the 6th round at the earliest (if they go FB at all)...

And yet, he came REAL close to making the Pro Bowl two different years... and Parcells refers to him as a "football-playing dude", which sure sounds like a compliment to me...

So maybe comparing DJ to Dat isn't that big an insult after all...
