Texas judge gives 7 year old right to decide custody

A seven year old boy was at the center of a county courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy had a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Dallas Cowboys, whom the boy firmly believes and the court agreed with are not capable of beating anyone.

Did you hear about Dallas and Tarrant Counties new tornado alert plan. If a tornado warning sounds everybody is supposed to go to Cowboys Stadium. Not much chance of a touchdown there.

Q: What do you call a Dallas Cowboy with a Superbowl ring?
A: Old.

My manager sent it to me and he knew I was too tired to be mad, lol.

I am just glad that the Texans aren't any good either.

I may have gotten this in a text message form only about 100012394871243 times.

I really question the humor in a "joke" that deals with beating children.

If you think the beating of children is funny and can be tied to another element to make a point, then you might actually be a Raiders fan, not a Cowboys fan.

I guess the idiot poster doesn't know any better or was raised as such.

If you can't laugh at jokes that use child beating, rape, murder, and other horrific acts in a joking way to get a laugh, then you probably take yourself too seriously. :laugh2: Go ahead and come down from your high horse. There might be a line, but if you feel this tame joke crosses it, then you must be some kind of crazy evangelical or something.

I stand by my moral convictions. Yours seem predicated to what amuses you on a daily or minute-by-minute whim.

And the term crazy evangelical is redundant.
