Wyomings coach was trying to tell them not to snap it so the quarter would run out.

Notre Dame's Oline holds more than Texas Tech's. I thought that was impossible.

comfortable win in the end but that first half was scary if they start off like that next week they might lose

At some point between now and next week, the Longhorns need to find better pass protection and special teams play.

I'm happy for the win as well but make no mistake about it, this was a fine example of a Jekyl and Hyde performance by Texas today. The pollsters will quickly forget their dismal 1st half play where the Longhorns squeaked out a 3 point halftime lead by scoring their first td in the closing seconds. I have no idea what Mack Brown & Co. said to them during halftime but whatever it was that turned them around, I sure as hell hope he can do it again next week as well against the Red Raiders (albeit, during the pregame warmups so as to avoid a massive cardiac infarction to their fans).

Until then - HOOK'EM, Baby!!!

a few things...

1. What the hell was that punter thinking?

2. What the hell was Mack thinking with that fake FG? Just go for it with Colt and the boys or actually kick the FG.

3. The Mountain West officiating sucks. Not only were they calling bogus penalties...they were not calling obvious ones. Oh and then there was that lame penalty on Texas where he did the YOU CANT SEE ME, but not at any Wyoming player. It should have been a no call. But the refs called the penalty.....make it 1st and goal. Wyoming runs the ball, making it 2nd and goal. Then the refs decide that there isnt an automatic first down for unsportsmanlike conduct...so it is 3rd and goal...this infuriates the Wyoming coach, understandably.....but there is more. After even further discussion, they realize that it is actually 3rd and 1. Wyoming doesnt make it and has to kick a FG. That whole situation was totally unprofessional and some of the worst officiating I have seen in a long time.

The lone touchdown by Wyoming was set up by a bogus holding call on the Texas Center. All he did was push his man to the ground, which is legal. Texas got a first down on the play. But that braindead referee through the flag and called holding. Horrible call. Well that took away a first down and Texas had to punt 2 plays later....and that is when the blocked punt happened.

Earlier in the game, Wyoming was called for a roughing the kicker penalty.....BOGUS. He ran into the kicker. It should have been only a 5 yd penalty.

4. I wish Texas would use Cody Johnson as a FB and run McGee, Monroe, and Newton behind him. Also, enough with the 0 yard passes. Once Colt started throwing those 8-15 yd passes, the Horns took over and dominated. It also opened up the running lanes.

5. Props to Wyoming...they played super hard and super tough. I was impressed with their D and tackling for the most part. Unfortunately for them, they were just outmanned and outmatched. They are going to suck this year.....but you can already see the foundation is in place for some good things to come from that program. Do not be surprised if in about 4-5 years teams are drafting WRs, OL, and defensive players from Wyoming on a regular basis.

6. You could tell Mack was holding back. He didnt want to give TT any ammunition to work on for next week. Look for the Horns to show a lot more aggressiveness next Saturday.

I'm relieved by the win. With all the special teams miscues early on, this game had an NC State-feel to it.

Newton > McGee

I'd hold off on that for a little while until there is more evidence. Newton was doing his work against a worn out defense.

McGee is pretty terrible though.

They need Fozzy Whitaker to get healthy.

Texas is not playing like #2. Colt is not playing like a Heisman candidate. This offense and defense is struggling. Not pretty.

I did not see the defense struggling. They only gave up 3 points. They kept the Longhorns in the game while the offense struggled. Maybe it is perception because the offense played so poorly, but I did not think the defense was having trouble.

McGee has 3 fumbles in 2 games anyone who doesn't fumble is better then him at this point

I just can't believe the state of Texas can't produce a better RB for that team than that.

Monroe looks like a great situational back but it looks like if a strong wind came through it would blow him away.

Nate Newton son looked good running the ball for Texas.
