People started calling him Jethro, after the hayseed in the sixties-era television comedy The Beverly Hillbillies. Outside linebacker Jeff Rohrer was videotaped singing the show’s theme song with his own improvised lyrics: “The first thing you know ol’ Jer’s a millionaire / The kinfolks said, ‘Jer, move away from here’ / They said, ‘Dallas, Texas, is the place you wanna be’ / So he hopped in his Lear and bought America’s Team.”
