I don’t know what to expect from Scherzer tomorrow. I’m hoping the offense comes up big early and Scherzer can give 5+ good innings.

It's strange that all the 100 win teams got knocked out in the second round, for both American and National.

And the Braves and Dodgers won 100+ last year and choked in the same round then too.

The best teams get knocked out nearly half the time...going back forever. It's the nature of baseball, and it's rarely a matter of "choking".

MLB wins and losses are this:

1. 1/3 talent
2. 1/3 who's hot, who's not
3. 1/3 pure unadulterated luck

When you get closely matched teams...it's mostly 2 & 3 (and umps)

Looking like Rangers vs Phillies World Series although the two series aren't over.

Astros will have to win 4 out of 5 though and only 2 games left in Houston.

They showed Houston’s record during season . .500 or slightly below at home on the road it’s like 20 games over . They love the road . Scherzer off the DL is dicey tonight , sure would like a 6 inning Dane Dunning start this series .

Scherzer stunk for the Mets in last year’s playoffs. He is very disappointing at this stage of his career.

Rangers basically conceded the loss when they decided to start Scherzer. It was going to be hard to win anyway against Javier and a desperate Astros team knowing it's a must-win. This series is probably going 7 so this was a good opportunity for Scherzer and the rest of the bullpen to get some work in. They just need to try to get 1 win and go back to Houston with a 3-2 lead.

Scherzer is done. And you get him for another year. He stole money from the Mets this year and will also steal money from the Mets next year.

Rangers, Astros and Phillies all went 90-72 in the regular season.

If the Rangers win this series, they get HFA against the Phillies because they swept them in the regular season. But if the Astros win the series, the Phillies would have HFA because Philadelphia won more games against Houston in the regular season.

Arizona only won 84 and would not have HFA regardless.

-Semien soft single

-Seager hits an 108 mph rocket...but spot at the 1st baseman. DOUBLE PLAY
-Evan Carter hits a laser 106 mph...surely extra bases, but again...too much right where outfielder could grab it.

Did the Rangers score 4 or even 2? Nope. They went hungry.
