i encourage anybody near san marcos to give this historic restaurant a try, i had the bacon wrapped filet mignon and it was the most tender, juicy, perfectly cooked piece of meat i have ever had.

seriously if you are in Austin or San Antonio make the drive down, spend the day at the river and check this place out you will not be disappointed(and bring your wallet,not over priced but not cheap)

The scenery that serves the food is usually mighty, mighty fine too.

thats what happens when the college in the town has a 4:1 female to male ratio;)

And I'll be starting back there in Summer II session. Too bad I'm twice as old as the incoming freshman. Where's my Just For Men Grey???

A very high college drop out rates; I know a lot of people that started college there and never finished they had to transfer somewhere else. Partied a little to much :eek:

yeah they are cleaning that up though, it is really hard to get even small parties past about 1 AM here, the freshman drop rate is still high though because everybody still remembers swtsu and thinks party school+easy classes=skip and go to the river and its just not the case anymore, but student retention and graduation is up for everybody that makes it to the second semester

When the city adopted the fining of the property owners for noise disturbances, it really killed the late night stuff. I used to love the midnight run from the Square to 6th Street, then run the back way home off of 35 to 9 Mile for the after parties. Ah, so many more brain cells than I have now. So many more...

lol yeah we just raised the drinking time to 2 am down here reasoning was the drunk driving to and from austin, so i guess i should thank you! lol
