What a sad day that is going to be.

Just what this area needs another mall or shopping plaza.

I will miss Texas Stadium big time.

It is good because it has an outside chance of pushing more events to the NEW stadium, and additionally, it's kind of like recycling land.

Good idea IMO.. but I definitely see where you are coming from.

I'll miss it for its history, but that's about it. Unless you are tailgating or inside watching the game, TS sucks. I can't wait for the new stadium and will happily plunk down whatever for season tix there.

I'll kinda miss Texas Stadium, it was quite unique when it was build. It had its plusses and minuses but reeked "Dallas Cowboys".

I have never been there even though I lived in Dallas many years because, in essence, Tex Schramm called anyone who would pay their prices fools (I'm paraphrasing it for my own tristed satisfaction.) What he actually said when asked about a several hundred percent increase in ticket prices over prior tickets was "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public."

That caused me to do a slow burn because it put me in the position of supporting him and his team and voluntarily admitting I was of lesser intelligence if I wanted to attend any of the games in person or simply preserving my ego by staying away and not watching my favorite team in person.

My ego won. I became a Sunday afternoon couch potato. I almost never watch TV any other time. I have watched most of the games on TV at home but have never attended another game even though I had been to quite a few at the Cotton Bowl back when the seats were wooden benches.

Do I have a stubborn streak or what?

I have never been to Texas Stadium, though I have driven by it countless times. But now that it is to become an outlet mall, my wife is sure to drag me there sooner or later on one of our trips through the Metroplex - we live way out in the country now.

I guess I just have no nostalgia when it comes to that humidity trap. It is great to see it on TV, but Texas Stadium is old and outdated. The Crown Jewel of the NFL deserves to play in the Best Stadium in the NFL and what Dallas currently plays in is one of the worst.

Out of curiosity, what else have you done there?

It's too bad that you're going to go through life and die without ever visiting Texas Stadium because of some offhand remark by some guy you never met. Alot of people would be so happy to be able to live close to and drive by Texas Stadium all the time. I live in PA.

Me......I do what pleases me. I could care less what anybody else thinks or says about something I love. I spent $400 bucks on two tickets to see the reunited Van Halen last September at their first show in North Carolina. It's a high price but it was something I will always remember and that is priceless.

I say tear that old rag down and build the "Grand Silver Star" high rise luxury condo's in it's place. Make it fifty stories tall so you can see the new stadium from the top floors. Oh, and ban Laura Miller from stepping foot in it.

I tell ya one thing, that area will get a hell of a lot noisier without "Texas Stadium National Bank & Library" there.

I've never been in another NFL Stadium except Texas Stadium, so I love it. However Saturday I'm gonna see Brad Paisley in Reliant Stadium in Houston so I might not like it as much saturday

I've been to see the Cowboys play away games at Houston, the Dolphins, Bucs, Commanders and Ravens. I have also been to see San Fran and Atlanta via free tickets while I was in town. What the Cowboys play in currently is embarrassing if the nostalgia is removed.

Raymond James Stadium (The Bucs) is unreal, by far my favorite place to watch football (although I don't get there that much anymore). Reliant Stadium will make you realize that your Cowboys are a big time second class citizen in their own state. That place is very nice and the roof is made of a material that will actually allow the sun to shine through (since it's retractable, they get the best of all worlds.).

If it makes you feel any better, the Dolphins play in a pretty cruddy stadium as well.
