I had heard on ESPN this morning that Texas was favored by something like 17+ points due to the game being played in Austin and the fact that the Longhorns wanted revenge for what last year's loss had cost them. Well it's a good thing I don't live in a place where gambling is legal because I'd take TT plus the points in a heartbeat. It's not that I don't believe in my Longhorns but anyone that knows anything about this rivalry realizes that favored/point spread/W-L record doesn't mean squat when these two teams square off against each other. Some of the greatest games ever played where it was all about offense and defense was virtually non-existent involved Texas and TT, with the outcome uncertain until the final seconds ticked off - it's just that close (especially over the last five seasons).
TT just finds a way to get up for UT everytime and a lot of credit needs to go to their head coach (Leach) for getting his boys ready. My only gripe about TT is why can't they play like this whenever they faceoff against those godforsaken Sooners? It's like the Longhorns are their Superbowl and they get out there and play their butts off, however, when it's time to play OU, they act as if it's their own version of the ProBowl (or something less than stellar) and fall flat on those very same backsides.
Pretty annoying when you're a frustrated Longhorns fan.
HOOK'EM!!!
