this guy is intriguin, i was very high on him coming out of college (stanford), i guess he didnt fit in with the raiders, i think it would be interesting to take a look at this guy. and hawthorne would be interesting too but i think we are set at dt. wat do you guys think

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in but Parcells likes his TE's to be decent blockers. Not necessarily a strength for Johnson.

Johnson was a WR at Stanford. He has the skills to be a good receiving TE, but he just isn't a good blocker. He isn't very physical, but very physically gifted. The biggest knock on him in Oakland was that. He had trouble beating DE's off jams at the line, and he wasn't as tough as Oakland would have hoped for over the middle. That's what I know about him.

If Norv couldn't get it out of him, I don't know if any coach can. Sounds like he should be a motion TE or a slot receiver if he has trouble off the jam.
