He had a great game for us. Garrett really pulled a guy off the streets with him.

I expect to keep doing good this weekend, Lets Go Morris!!!Let's Go Cowboys!!!

He played with Garrett and then played for him. I'm guessing that he had something to do with it.

Come on man....you have to assume that he had something to do with it.

He fits what we wanna do. He's always been a solid draw/screen player. He's a solid 3rd down back as well.

He kinda reminds me of Chris Warren, who was effective for a stretch here.

Just a HC who is allowed to get players on the roster that he wants.
Only if they perform well, if they stink then Jerry wanted the guy and forced him into Garretts hands.

That is the criteria the Jerry haters and critics place on it.

As I have said since day 1 when Garrett was hired Jerry came out and made it perfectly clear there would be no player or coach on the roster that Garrett does not want, with Garrett standing right next to him.

I firmly believe there is not a coach or player on this team that Garrett does not want. There may be some players Garrett wants to replace but there is not much you can do until the off season.

lol this is why I was teasing. Jerry the GM gets no love, it just doesnt feel right to say good job Jerry.

I understand and I agree. For me I don't care if Jerry talks with the media no more than I cared when Tex talked to the media and had his own TV show. What I do care about is Jerry allowing his HC to have the control he needs to do the job.

I still expect it to be a group effort in player acquisition after all when dealing with big contracts management has to play a part in terms of the length and size of the contract because they have to be able to handle their cap obligations not just short term but longer term.

This approach is not an isolated one most every other team does this as well unless the HC is the GM and looking around I don't see that anywhere.

Heck even when Landry was the HC and there was no cap it was still a group effort with Tom, Tex and Gil Brandt it was never a 1 man show

dude is older than dirt, BUT he did run hard the other night and looks to have fresh legs. He also knows the schemes so.....he's serviceable I suppose but losing Jones and Murray at this point sucks balls. I guess Jones COULD play but how much burst will he have with a tweeked hammy? we'll see....

I don't think Jones situation is that serious. Having some tightness is not being injured. Cowboys are only taking precaution on this and allowing him some rest.

.....I only go by what I read: which in this case and OTHER news with the DFW media is...tenuous at best...if it's just some tightness that's great. :star:

Morris is a pro. He'll do what we ask and won't make many mistakes doing it. He'll pick up the right guy on blitz pick up, he will run the correct route, and he'll hit the proper hole when he runs the ball.

This, I expected from a guy who spent time playing for Belichick.

What I didn't expect was for him to be running so hard and be so difficult to bring down.

He was a great late season pick-up.
