Thank You Refs!

There was a call in the fourth quarter where Marion Barber and a Colts defender were holding each other's facemasks. The defender was called, but Barber wasn't. We got away with that one.

Ignore the obvious bad quality, my capture card is down and I only had my picture phone, lol.

Anyway, as you can see, he already hit him and he is going to the ground before the ball comes out.

Edit: I am reinstalling the driver right now, when it finishes I will upload a better photo.

The ball carrier hardly ever gets called for a stiff arm even to the defenders face. I don't consider that getting away with one when that is just the way it is almost always called.

Well we got as many calls our way, if not more in this game.
They allowed us to be physical with Indy's receivers in the red zone.

Dallas bumped them within the 5 yard rule, even Manning admitted that. I don't think they let us get away with anything

The main one I think we may have gotten away with was Keith Davis in the Endzone. He clearly made decent contact with the Receiver but the Refs didnt pull the flag.

- Mike G.

I went back and rewatched this several times, and the contact was not Davis' fault. Davis was holding his position when Dallas Clark ran into him and tried to basically push off. He could not get any separation from Davis and even tried to after the initial contact by grabbing his jersey near the shoulder.

So to recap: There was contact, but it was initiated by Clark.

On a Giant's board the usual suspects were whining about the win against the Colts.

One genius posted that the refs take two paychecks each week.

One from the league.

The other from Jerry Jones.

This was the high point of the thread until a Cowboy fan pointed out that Dallas is the most penalized team in the league.

The silence was deafening at that point.

That was a brilliant point by the Cowboy fan and added great impact to your post you clever one you.

Well are you just about Romofied, TwoDeep?

I know there were some calls that were questionable but non that impacted the game.

The reason behind the thread is the Refs allowed the teams to win or lose on their own.

Doesn't it also appear that the ball would have been uncatchable anyway? I think it would have been about 10 ft over the receiver's head. It flew well out of the end-zone. It looked to me like Manning just threw it away intentionally.

I do remember that critical 3rd down conversion in the 4th quarter in which Terry Glenn caught that 7 yard catch on 3rd & 7 that allowed us to kneel down & run off the clock. If I remember correctly, and someone who recorded the game can confirm it, but we had trips right and it appeared to me that Witten who crossed in front of Glenn', not only picked the CB, but made contact before the pass was made. I just knew they were going to call a flag on us, cost us the first down, make it 3rd and 17 at the Indy 42, take us out of FG range(well...yesterday that was pretty much any distance) and Manning would get the ball back with about 1:50 left. I thought we definitely got the benefit in that non-call.

When watched in slow-mo, it looks like the ball is already in the air when he makes contact. However, he needs to make that look more realistic, like it is actually an accident, otherwise despite the timing, the refs may call it.

On that play, he wouldn't even need to run a pick anyway, because the corner was involved in knocking Crayton off his route.

I thought Witten picked also and said it during the game on the game thread. We did get lucky on that one. I will say we desevre one every now and then.

And they picked us on the Wayne TD.
