...just an awful awful day, not just as a football fan, but as a person

I always knew that amongst our rivals, even if the Boys were the most hated on the field, were classiest off the field. Never have had any bad things to say about you as fans

All I can say is thank you

No problem bro.

I would expect the same, if the roles were reversed... except for the usual lunatic fringe that you can find everywhere.

I'm real sorry for your loss, too BTW. I sincerely hate that it happened.

Peace.

I'll add to that too. Last night I went to bed so hopeful that Sean would pull through only to wake up this morning to hear he'd passed.

I don't know whether to cry or punch a hole in the wall, but it's nice to know other fans support you.

Thank you all.

My wife woke me up this morning by saying, "Honey, I'm sorry... but Sean Taylor passed away during the night."

It was a bad way to wake up... I can only imagine what it's like for you guys.

It's bad for anyone, NFL fan or not.

This when football and rivalries do not matter! Sean was a human being and I'm sad to see him leave at such a young and promising age.

I pray for his family to be strong...

Truely one of the saddest days of my life. Sean Taylor was my favorite player and considering I have not known death inside my family this is the closest ive felt to it. I really appreciate what you guys have done and all the support you guys have shown.

We are here for you guys .... our rivalry is the greatest in sports .... and that makes us family in a weird sort of way.

This whole thing just makes you sick inside. I hope they catch the person(s) who did this.

LOL... it kinda does, in a strange way. Like the brother you always fight... but will stand side by side with to fight an outsider. (Yes, I have a lot of experience in that with me and my stupid brother) :D

I agree with Mavs... I hope they catch the guy(s) and hang them from a freakin yardarm.

Thank you for the message from one Hokie to another.

RIP Sean

I still can't believe it. When I look up into the right corner of the screen and see his picture and the "In Memory of...", it still hits me in the pit of my stomach.

He was such a great player and so young...

Two days ago, he was a Commander... now he's a young kid and father who lost his life for no reason.

It will honestly take me a little while to get over this. It bothers me a lot.

Football is a game...Sean's death is not a game, hence lies the difference.

There are times when personal stuff against Commanders fans have to be set aside, and unfortunetly today is one of those times.

It will only get better from this point on...

this has ruined my day.. he might of been the greatest safety ever.

If it wasn't for true respectable Rivalry we wouldn't live our Sundays with such passion and emotion. The greatest rivalry is not between those disrespectful to each other, but those who battle it out on and off the field till the last drop of energy, in a dignified way. It's every Sunday or even Mon Thursday, that we have a few hours to put aside our daily pains and live a few hours of emotion.

Tarantula was a hell of a player and the NFL will miss him and his highlight-reel hits. My prayers go out to his family...especially his daughter-it's terrible to leave a child so young behind.
:suxskins: but their players are respected and, in the end, the NFL is a family (among players and fans) and we all mourn this loss. God Bless...
