I won't start another thread because I'm sure that several others have but I share in this poster's sentiments.

I second that. The outpouring of support on our message boards from Cowboys fans has brought tears to my eyes. It reminds me that, while we may cheer for opposing teams, we're all part of the football-fan family. Thank you and God bless you for your heartfelt gestures.

I've never had the notion to post on a rival's board, but because of today's event I wanted to post something on ExtremeSkins. I'm still waiting for my account to be activated, but I can understand why there's a delay.

As others have said, this rivalry is more heated than most, and the best in all of sports, but underneath there is always respect (or should be) and yeah, even a family-like element to it. We're thinking of you guys, and Sean Taylor's family is in our prayers.

I was about to post the same thing. As a die hard Commanders fan from back in the early '70s the love hate relationship between our teams has been a wonderful ride. Sure there are times that both sides got the better of the other ... times when we hated to play each other ... because one team was clearly the more talented and most likely to win ...

Through all of that there has been a lot of talk and even some pretty amazing stunts between the teams and the fans. There has always been one constant for me throught all of the hard faught battles on the field, the understanding and respect for each other that went along with the bitter rivalry.

Today the Cowboy fans and especially the operators of this forum have shown yet again why the at times grudging respect has always been there and always deserved.

Thank you Cowboy fans for offering your sympathy and respect to Sean Taylor, his family, the Commanders and the Commanders fans ... to some it up I was blown away to hear that this site had changed the colors to honor Sean Taylor, for those who have not heard Coach Joe Gibbs learned about his early this afternoon and has been told of all the out pouring of support shown by Cowboy fans. It moved him to tears from what I heard and I don't mind saying to all of you it did the same for me.

Thank You ... it means more then my simple words here can convey.

Though we are loyal to different teams, we are all fans and understand the devastating impact this has on the Commander family. The NFC East has always been the class of the NFL in our teams as well as our fans. We stand with you in mourning.

I have been a die hard Cowboys' fan since their inception in 1960. I was a very young man living in Dallas when the franchise started. Over the entire history of the franchise, I have had many reasons and opportunities to be proud of the organization, the team and the fans.

However, after reading the manner in which the Cowboys' fans have responded to this horrible tragedy and expressed their grief and sorrow over the passing of one of the most talented and gifted players in the NFL, and have expressed genuine condolences to the Commanders' family and Sean Taylor's family, I have never been more proud of the Cowboys' fans in the history of the franchise.

I was at the doctor's office when I saw on TV about the passing and then I listened to Mr. Gibbs as he shared about Sean's faith in God and his faithful attendance to the chapel services the last year and a half and it brought a sense of comfort to my own heart in the middle of the shock concerning the tragedy and my grief for the family.

This wanton waste of a life overshadows any games that men play. It is encouraging to me to see the way the NFL family has responded and reached out to the Commanders family.

Our prayers are with the Taylor family.

I already posted a sympathy message in another thread but I wanted to add another comment about today. Commander and Cowboy fans have a bitter rivalry on and off the field for a long time but I think the relationship between the fans, at least the online segment, will be different from now on.
