Since 1966, the Dallas Cowboys have been a fixture on Thanksgiving
Day, having hosted the annual contest for 40 of the last 42
years. In 1975 and 1977, the St. Louis Cardinals played host to the
game in place of Dallas. In 1978, the game returned to Dallas for
good. The Cowboys have posted a 25-14-1 record in the holiday
classic and a 26-14 mark the following week.

In the 40 Thanksgiving Day games, there has been:

* A four-game losing streak by Dallas (1986-89)
* 18 double-digit wins by Dallas

This week’s Thanksgiving Day game against the Seattle Seahawks
is on Nov. 27. In the 48-plus years of Dallas Cowboys football,
there have been seven Nov. 27 games for Dallas - five on Thanksgiving
Day. The Cowboys hold a 2-4-1 record when playing on Nov.
27. They have faced Seattle the most (1-1). Dallas also played
Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Tennessee and Washington. The
1960 and 1977 matchups were the only non-Thanksgiving Day Nov.
27 games.
