Did I read in one of the threads about one of the possible successors to Taglibue that he wanted to take away the tradition of Detroit and Dallas solely playing on Turkey Day?

Something about granting Lamar "Ketchup Man" Hunt's wish or something?

Say it ain't so.

I think they are only going to rotate the night game, not the traditional day games with detroit and Dallas

Detriot and Dallas games will not change. A third Turkey Day game has been added on NFL Network on Thanksgiving night. The teams on the night game will be selected every year as part of the regular schedule.

Correct Dallas will continue to have the 3:00 game on Thanksgiving, Det will continue the noon game and the new night game will be rotated each year.

Awesome! Because while I have the NFL Network at my place. I'm not doing T-day this year.

This draft couldn't come around faster guys. I can't remember the last time I looked forward to a season starting more in the last 9 years than this year!

We've got a crazy Defense, our O is unstoppable! the O-Line is upgraded!

Easy formula, When Dallas plays an NFC team which they do every other year on Thanksgiving it will be on the NFC channel (FOX) when playing AFC teams it will be on (CBS) and like always I'll be at the game

Back in the 60s the NFL offered up the 2nd Thanksgiving Day game (Detroit had already been hosting one since the 30s) and no one wanted it. They asked the Cowboys who said they would take it but wanted it permanently. The league agreed and we have had it ever since.

It came up again after the NFL/AFL merger and no one jumped up to host a game on ThanksGiving Day (including Lamar Hunt) so it stayed with just the Lions and Cowboys.

Now that the popularity of ThanksGiving Day games has risen a bunch of these teams want to jump in but both the Lions and Cowboys have agreements in place to host them permanently so the league can't take them away from them.

They are simply adding another game at night which will rotate.

Lamar Hunt can sit on it and rotate. He had his chance but passed when it was available now he needs to get over it.

You got it. When Dallas took Thanksgiving the agreement was Dallas would only take the game if we got it every year. Tex was a smart man and Jerry is holding firm on this as well.

Jerry Jones needs to take Lamar Hunt out behind the woodshed and whup is stupid *** for him. Take away the Cowboys on Thanksgiving...Preposterous!! And what's up with that 7 teams per conference playoff crap; that would be a convoluted playoff bracket.
