That Game Was All on the Defense

Somebody has to say it because I am shocked it hasn't been said.

They came out sloppy, gave up a quick 17, and we spent the entire game fighting back.

They didn't get any turnovers. When we finally came back, they gave up another big play. And then we came back, and the special teams (defensive) give up a huge gain.

The offense ran out of gas and time, but that was by far their best game. I think Garrett even called a decent game (for another post).

Culprits?

Jenkins, worst game ever, directly responsible for anywhere between 7 and 21 points.
Scandrick
Ball

All in the secondary. Just like the Bears game.

What is going on back there? What did Newman allude to that was going on in meetings that "the coaches don't know about" before the Bears game?

Campo better be reaming *** all week...

Wrong. It was the whole team..including the whole team.

YOU HAVE FAILED.

Add Spencer to your list of culprits, I've mentioned him several times on here for his inability, or unwillingness to stay disciplined and keep containment on the edge. That long run CJ ripped off is all on him.

14 of the 34 points came off short fields from a turn over and a long KO return by the special teams. It was a team loss from top to bottom.

The offense gave the Titans the ball on the 1 yd line, and the STs gave it to them inside the 20.

It was a team loss.

If we "brought the pain", I guess we'd have kept them from scoring on those two drives that started at our own 1 and 11.

:hammer:

Well its not like this defense has ever been one to force turnovers, or make any plays.

They just look good on stat sheets and on paper when you look at our depth chart.

Our DBs never play the ball, or jump any routes. Outside of Ware, no one pressures the QB. Our ILBs never make any game changing plays. Our safeties are both very mediocre.

It's been going on for years. They are a consistently average bunch. Thats why Wade hides behind statistics. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers - our defense is allergic to them.

Oh no, i sooooo blame the defense for the lack of ST play. I can so blame the defense for the missed FG. I blame the defense for the interceptions. I totally blame them for being on the field when the offense was just sitting around waiting for their turn.

Lets not even talk about the refs.

defense sucked but the Titans played more disciplined than us. They knew we were going to stop CJ, but they kept hitting us in the mouth and we sat there and took it every chance we could.

Dont forget, there stands another HC and his train of coaches as well.
Our team sucked at every phase of the game.

2 weeks for them to come out and suck that bad.

At some point, they need to make plays. Start stripping the ball, jumping routes, doing something to make catalytic plays and get the ball back to our offense.

I've watched this defense for 4 years now, waiting for them to break out, get comfortable with the scheme, and start wreaking havoc. Instead it seems they've regressed. A shame considering how many first round picks we've invested on that side of the ball.

I just want to see turnovers and big plays. Outside of Demarcus Ware, not one player on that side of the ball does that at all, let alone on a consistent basis.

When you have a deadly runner like Chris Johnson, and you underestimate a QB who just knows how to win, then you tend to move your safeties up and that's when Young goes after your Corners, and noticed they didn't mess with Newman as much, but they went right after Jenkins and Scandrick. (let me add) when they do finally move Ball and Sensabaugh back to cover deep, Chris Johnson peels off a HUGE run. What I'd like to know is, where are our inside linebackers? And why don't most corners know how to play the ball in the air?

We got basically no consistent pressure on Young.

Our Special teams were sub-average.

Our O line was disturbingly bad.

Our coaches could not make in game adjustments.

It was far from Romo's best game.

Plenty of blame to go all the way around.

Are you deliberately antagonizing or just an idiot?

The Defense lost this game. they forced us to play from behind time and again. They never made a game changing play. And the Defensive special teams goes against the defense imo.

Every game the whole team loses, but the offense played well enough to win. In fact, they played their best game of the year.

Neither of those drives would have existed because we wouldn't have been down 17, forcing us to throw too much and we would have brought the pain on special teams, too.

It was a team loss. But that doesn't take our defense off the hook as the prime culprit.

This defense against the Bears and Titans in now way resembled our 2009 unit.

We looked great against the Skins and Texans. I just can't account for what happened in the other two games. And it's why we're 1-3.
