The athlete quotient is really high for that unit. Guys flying all over the place. They might actually have a shot this year with that group.

they did look very good against TAM at College Station but then again I am not sure that TAM has a very good QB.

Some mocks already have the A&M QB as a mid to late 1st rounder.

I'm not sure what those mocks are basing this off of. Until this Notre Dame game, Weigman had only started 9 games in his first two seasons. While he wasn't garbage the past 2 years, he hadn't looked great at any point, either. His career so far has been a big question mark. Just an unknown. A prognosticator has to dig deep to project him into the first round amidst such little data.

Then block those mocks. He is a sophomore and has passed for all of 16 TDs in his career. He has zero rush threat.
He might be a mock draftee in 2027....

They are loaded in the secondary which helps. They are a bit light up front though. One of their bigger DTs is out but should be back soon.

Golden is a really good DC.

The D did not do terribly today but they should have done a lot better against a team with such inferior overall talent

QB stank but I have been worried about FREEMAN from year one. Every year he is losing against teams that frankly do not belong on the same field as regards talent

i don't know what the answer is.
i love riley leonard but he has looked out of sync in the pass game.
i don't know if its him or the receivers.
knee jerk reaction is let the cj carr era begin.
but te mitch evans can't get healthy fast enough for me.

Leonard had that big drive last week to seal the win but this week he looked absolutely putrid

IN fairness you have to give him at least another game before you bench him

My problem is Freeman

i don't think there is any way they'd actually bench leonard.
and if they did...they'd probably go angeli.
i like freeman.
i think he has them movin' in the right direction.
but these early season losses at home to inferior opponents is a problem.
moving forward leonard and this offense have got to get together.

I guess when you put a guy with no experience you get these results. I bet the hire made the administration happy though.

Notre Dame has done this like four times with Terry Brennan, Gary Faust, Bob Davie, Charlie Weis. All failed. Looks like number five coming up
How you make someone who has never been a HC at the college level one at a pressure place like Notre Dame is beyond me. Just plain stupid
But in these days of DEI firing him now would be a huge backlash which means he probably has at least two more years.

ND has a good Defense.
Freeman needs to go back to being a DC instead of HC.

You would think they could get a well established coach even if they had to pay him more. They have the money.
They have the national brand that helps with recruiting. Recruits like the idea of ND being on NBC for pretty much every game during the season.

They have the talent, money and exposure to be a good team. They just need the right coach.

Look at Texas. Went years after Mack Brown being so overrated, having plenty of top talent and national exposure...yet the HCs could not get it done.

Sark has changed that. Sark has got that team humming and being a contender again.

The ND AD who just left was a boob. Swarbrick panic hired Freeman after Kelly just up and bolted. In reality, Kelly leaving wasn't a bad thing but Swarbrick compounded the problem by hiring an inexperienced HC who clearly is still learning on the job. Also, if you believe the reports, Swarbrick wanted Freeman to bring back Rees as the OC, which was another mistake.

That was the opportunity to try to change the direction of the program and Swarbrick whiffed.

The D was fine. The only TD they gave up was a flukey long TD where the QB just chucked it into coverage and somehow, the RB who got bumped off his route, still ended up with the ball in his hands.

Frankly I felt they should have been able to do more; especially as it became clear the offense was having a really bad day. Make no mistake, this game was mostly lost by the O. They needed to be more aggressove trying to get turnovers and while I know that is risky when your O stinks that bad you need to take risks

nice bounce back vs purdue,today.
42-0 good guys.
3rd Qtr.
go♧irish.

66-7 final score and Angeli looked really good
RL maybe can win some games for you but Angeli looks like someone that can be a dual threat unike RL who is only a runner.

D had a pick six from a DE which was exciting

the irish need their offense to run thru #4...jeremiyah love.
young oline is really coming together.
just keep handin' it to love.
he is dynamic.

glad te mitch evans is back.
looks healthy.
his return to the line-up will really help this offense,in my opinion.
