Favre got away with not having to throw downfield very often. The NFC was weak and their running game and OL improved so Favre was getting away with the dink and dunk game. However, when he was forced to staying in the pocket and throwing downfield, he just coudln't put enough on the ball to move the chains. And in those situations, Favre always forces interceptions. Every since Mike Holmgren left the Packers, no one has been able to curtail his gunslinger mentality. The Packers could only go so far only to choke against any team that can apply pressure.
