I know it is early - but this years draft has slowly become one that provides little to bolster this team in years to come.

Way too premature for this....

I was expecting something actually involving a review.

There is nothing wrong with our picks. You take 11 guys pick 69 and later and there will always be some misses.

The only thing out of whack are the expectations on this board about what you get with those picks.

:fact:

voice of reason......
Thank you.

I posted this in another thread, but I'll drop it in here, too.

Most analysts thought the 2009 draft was weak, if I remember correctly.

Obviously, a guy like Max Unger would have been nice, but after he was gone, I sorta liked their approach. I think they drafted smart players who were team leaders, team captains ... guys who love the game.

The injuries are the problem.

It wouldn't surprise me that in two years, Jason Williams and Robert Brewster would be starting; and Brandon Williams, Michael Hamlin, John Phillips, Kevin Ogletree, Stephen Hodge and Victor Butler were important players on the roster.

That's a nice group of guys who were very productive in college. Give 'em a couple of years.

11 picks was too many. We needed to move up more in the middle rounds and pick up a 5th next year.

That was one of the things I didn't agree with.

There was no way 11 guys would make the team. I thought there should have been some trade ups.

Those middle rounds were pitiful in terms of talent. It was a horrible draft from top to bottom.

In drafts like this... Great teams with superior scouting and front office seperate from the teams! You dont hear Pats fans or Colts fans crying about a weak draft in 09, they have confidence their teams will find hidden gems in every draft.

Great Teams find players thats what they get paid to do... the other teams just sit by and watch!

The Pats cut their 3rd round pick from the 2008 draft. Pats have alot of misses in the draft just like everyone else.

You can only trade up in the draft if someone is willing to trade with you. Give the draft 3 years before you consider it a bust.

I believe we just missed on a few guys we liked. Unger obviously, Jarron Gilbert, TJ Lang, Jaquain Igleasias, (Rasad Johnson?)
And speedy projects like Mike Thomas, Johny Knox, and Demetrious Byrd

If there was ever a time to trade up, its when you have 10-12 picks in a weak draft.

Holy premature evaluation Batman.

Gotta agree with this. anyone drafted past pick 15 was considered a reach. there were some players that I would have like to see Dallas draft but there must have been a reason why they went a different route. Just gotta hope the staff knew what they were talking about from this point.
