I am sitting here watch the Emmitt Smith Story....

Many things were nice that were presented ( and can't post them all):

** Emmitt had a list when he entered the NFL and the 1st thing on that list was to Keep Jesus Christ First and Foremost
** He showed the message that was hanging in the locker at Escambia High School of the goals to achieve before, during and after your
football career.

** Emmitt rushed for 937 yards his rookie season with Dallas. His last season, in the NFL with Arizona, was 937 yards
** When Emmitt retired and giving his speech at Dallas, he thanked 172 people.
** Mr. Smith biggest person he was so thankful to was Daryl "Moose" Johnston
** Aikman stated that Roger Staubach IS the Biggest Legend for Dallas but then he put Emmitt as #2. Emmitt stated he would have taken a paycut
to stay with Dallas. Cried for 45 minutes before the game, when Arizona came to Dallas in Week 5. His heart was crushed when he had to
go to the visiting locker room and cried another 45 minutes when he entered the field, through the visit's tunnel.
** Like Irvin and Nate Newton, Emmitt still bleeds silver and blue. And hurts him that this franchise hasn't been Superbowl since their reign

(Side Note: I have a Dallas Cowboys man cave. I have two framed, autographed jerseys. Aikman and Moose. In the middle, I have a 3D #22 Emmitt dashing up the middle with the Lead Draw and a 4" 3D star above Emmitt. )

22 is the GOAT.

There have been better athletes as RBs (Sanders), and there have been better pure RBs in terms of skill (Payton)… but NO ONE at the position has ever embodied the complete package of Heart, Will, Vision, Durability, Focus, Skill, and Courage, that #22 possesses.

No one ever has. And it is very likely, no one ever will.

Yup, agree. Barry Sanders was a better skilled running back but nowhere near a better football player

they talk about the stats that Sanders could have had behind our offensive line but no way in hell does he play with a separated shoulder against the Giants like our guy did…..no way

I've had numerous disagreements with friends and foes about Emmitt. I've always considered him # 1. Most rushes, most yards, most TDs and most SB wins. To me, that makes him the best. I always say this to people who argue those points. Its funny that no one questions Jerry Rice being #1 for having those EXACT same traits. Most catches, most yards, most TDs and most SB wins. Hmmm I wonder what the difference is......one guy plays for Dallas and one for San Francisco.

Didn't Emmitt contact the Dolphins about acquiring him in 1993 when he had his holdout?

Yeah I feel the passion he has for the franchise.

Michael Irvin he is not.
