The run play up the middle with Pollard up the middle on 4th and short needs to be taken out to the shed and be put out of it's misery.

We have failed to convert this most of the times.

It's time that we put more thought into misdirection plays, play action and/or start running off tackle.

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that this play was going fail if they had it off straight up the middle? What say you?

That was a very ill-advised call.
We should have kicked the fg there.

The problem I had was not running that play on 1st down, and if need be, on 2nd down. 1st & goal from the 1 you have to be able to push it in the end zone.

It honestly isn't even the play call that I hate it's the 'kill' call right before we ran it. I don't think you can kill a play on 4th down like that. If the look you wanted isnt there you either take a TO to call a new play, take the penalty and kick the FG, or the play you 'kill' to can't be the most obvious play that you always run after a kill call.

You have a 5 man OL against 6 in the box plus as soon as Dak called kill both backers started to inch up. They were outmanned and the defense knew exactly what was coming.

It needed to be a different player. You’re talking about the first drive. It needs to be a bigger RB. Dowdle or even Luepke gets that. JJ wants Pollard on the field because of the money he is getting.

Kick the FG from the 2-yard line? That's never ever the right decision (except in obvious end-of-game situations).
But that run play in the middle with Pollard and current OL is suicide, we should have a Fb ( or extra OL ) and use a Lupeke / Dowdle or Dak has to take off with faking .

Why Is this team always scared to give backup RBs more carries? Took, what… 4 years before Pollard got more than 5 snaps a game? And now that you decide he deserves the load, you refuse to give him relief on the goal line, when you have a big FB you decided was good enough to eat up roster space and Dowdle who seems to have more success on interior runs sometimes. Dowdle did get more carries this game but skewed with the blowout. And the team also decided it was worth a roster spot for a 4’ playmaker. Either replace these guys on the roster, or figure out more ways to use them in game, because Pollard has been dying out there all year.

I just think we need a misdirection plays or disguise our plays better. Everyone knew that we were going to hand the ball off to Pollard.

There was no doubt where the ball was going. We don’t have the O-Line to pull it off. If we ran it off center to Tyler’s side we would have a better chance and we are not even trying that.

Is that before or after he runs out of bounds!!?
That was on a 2 point conversion. It sucked. Daks margins for error is so much smaller for him. Was a big drive. Was a close game. Penalties gave chances and blew chances. If Dak does not play as good as he did we would have never been in the game.
