In the middle of re-watching the game. What in the hell were they thinking running a play with :04 on the clock. Thankfully Dak's inaccurate self missed Gallup on the short pass. He would not have gotten out of bound or tackled and the time would have ran out. Like I said last night, sometimes it pays to be lucky than good.

Yea that’s true and I believe it was Aikman that mentioned it during the broadcast. Sometimes things just work out.

I am just happy situational awareness challenged Garrett actually tried the FG rather than having Dak heave up a hopeless Hail Mary. Baby steps;...

I thought trying that FG was the stupidest thing ever, which is why I'm not a coach.
It's only a good decision because it worked. I don't care who your kicker is, you can't expect anyone to make a 62 yarder (two yards off all-time record), even indoors

The Cowboys had nothing to lose with the gamble. If this had been in the middle of a game then they would not have to tried it because, if the kick fails, then the opponent is starting their next drive close to the 50 yard line

The odds of making the field goal was much higher than a Hail Mary.

That's what people are missing here.

Of course you don’t expect to make it. Only time you line up for that is at the end of the half or end of the game. Wasn’t really much of a decision

Oops. Verdict already made the point

That was smart as long as you don't get it blocked. His leg was definitely strong enough to at least get it out of the end zone without a return.
