Well, here we are, Cowboys who had great expectation of the draft. I now believe that the Front Office knows it sucks at drafting so they made their picks in free agent before the draft and are waiting until after the draft in the UDFA picks to do their real damage. After all the writeups and mocks and evaluations they pick a good running back that will not buy us anything in yards than the three running backs we already had. Then we pick a LBer that will be hard pressed to play this year or maybe never. Then we pick a DT that I have not heard of before and when I looked him up his resume looked like a high school kid. I mean what were they thinking? OK, some of you may think I am over dramatic but DAM_, So you think we will be better than 8-8?

Well tomorrow is Saturday and it can only get better, right? Right??

Not for you, I'm afraid.

You mean they picked the most talented [email protected] in the draft.... they picked a top 3 player in the draft in the 2nd round..... and picked up top 10 DT in the draft... it's not about what you get today, but building your team for the future.

These threads are great, I can't get enough of them.

Is this the '74 steelers draft? Hell no. It's not even the '91 Dallas draft.

I don't think it's god awful by a long shot. I haven't watched one piece of film that tells me Zeke is only marginally better than the 3 backs we have. He's dynamic, plus he blocks. Bell cow, something McFadden at 29 and Morris at 27 most certainly are not. Lance Dunbar? Puhhhleaaaase. Too rich at #4? Maybe. Terrible? Hell no.

Smith is a stretch for sure. He might not recover. Risk? You better believe it. Reward? Likely all pro if he regains health. They had 2 pass rushers taken right from under them. I can see why people are upset with this pick. The upside is enormous though. I can't just throw in the towel on this pick, it's risky but I think this draft lacked premium talent, but Smith was one of them. I'm willing to wait and see.

I know the least about Collins. Classic 3 tech? Marinelli's stamp of approval? Ugh, I can't call this one awful either. 67 picks in? This seems like a solid pick. It seemed to get general acclaim outside the whiners on this board.

Time will tell on all of this. I have a general distrust of this FO, but I can't call these pick terrible. The Cowboys did ok, there is potential for 2 real difference makers, game changers and some much needed new blood to the front 4. They did alright, now they need to earn their keep when the real scouting work should pay off in rounds 4-7 and UDFA. Find a few hidden gems here and that really accelerates their return to the living.

It's a risky gamble. One of the only upsides here is that you didn't give up extra picks for him so at worst he falls in line with the wasted second round picks of years past.

But his magazine printed in January doesn't have all the guys we've picked #1 at their position.....

I'm gonna be a total nerd and say proofread your post for syntax and what I assume is translation. If you're from another country, tell me to go walk off a bridge, but I couldn't get through the paragraph. Yeah everyone's gonna think I'm Garrett.

The syntax shows a state of mind, the contend is correct, the future is blurred, the state of the Cowboys after three rounds is that this draft is a bust. Rounds 4 thru 7 I have no idea how we turn out. I am looking forward to the UDFA results. I believe that sums up my view of things.

I'm afraid if you haven't heard of Maliek Collins DT Nebraska before yesterday....then posting a rant on a football message board isn't for you.

So who would some like over Collins? I'm happy with our first two but, I don't know much about this guy.

We definitely went out of the box a bit. Only time will tell. I feel we had some good defenders on the board that we passed up in RD 2. I also assume since I'm here in my armchair, that the war room has much more experience and insight than I do. We have had pro-bowl players from the later rounds that were diamonds in the rough.
