The Associated Press reports the aftereffects of Jeremy Shockey's concussion have reduced his motor skills.

The injury was diagnosed as a stage 1, mild concussion but Shockey says he's now sensitive to light, vomiting, and having headaches and trouble sleeping. As a top-five TE, Shockey is definitely someone to monitor. He'll be held out of practices indefinitely.

Here's the Drill

1. When Tom Coughlin was hired as the Giants' coach before the 2004 season, my first reaction was this: Jeremy Shockey's life just got a hell of a lot worse. Now, entering the third season of this marriage between taskmaster and hell-raiser, it may be time to seek shelter from the impending storm. On Monday, a day after telling reporters that his coach "can be an *** sometimes," Shockey ran a deep out pattern early in a well-attended evening practice session and bristled when quarterback Eli Manning threw elsewhere. Yanking off his helmet in disgust, the tight end screamed, "Throw me the f------ ball!"

Late in the practice, Manning went Shockey's way as the tight end raced up the middle of the field, but safety Will Demps closed quickly and his elbow clipped the tight end's face mask as both went for the ball. "Oooooh," went the crowd as Demps nearly picked off the pass; Shockey slumped to the ground with what would later be diagnosed as a mild concussion. (He was experiencing headaches Tuesday morning and was held out of that afternoon's practice.) A few plays later, as Coughlin called the team together for the end of practice, Shockey tore off his helmet and tossed it to the turf.

I for one, hope he gets better.

You never want some guy's life changed due to a sport.

That being said, they all know something like this can happen in a sport such as football.

Yeah, I think the guy is a jerk, but life can be hell with those symptoms.

A "mild concussion" is just another term for a "mild brain injury". I hope he is ok... and simply gets shut down this year by Dallas.

I'd be worried if I'm the Giants, as they say the first concussion is always the hardest to get, afterwards they get easier and easier.

Methinks this dolt has already taken plenty of shots to the head...

And maybe eaten lead chips.

What a jerk.

maybe it was the mental retardation that reduced his motor skills

Must be a mis-diagnosis. I HIGHLY doubt Diva has a brain

Didn't he suffer a concussion last season.

Sounds like he is suffering typical symptoms of a concussion right now. The Giants should be cautious with him for a few days as any team with any player in the same situation.
