The Amazing SPIDER-MAN

Marvel keeps kicking DC's butt.

It's way past embarrassing. Batman is really its only saving grace.

Obviously I'm in the minority here, but I don't think Batmans are all that great. (including the dark knight)

In my most honest opinion, I believe that anyone should separate the pre-Christopher Nolan films from all the ones which came before them in their evaluation--including Tim Burton's original Batman. They were very good (Burton's) to awful (Batman & Robin), but they were never the quintessential Batman or even Bruce Wayne. Nolan captures the character's true essense and surrounds it in a perfect movie world.

Of course, that's just my opinion. If you didn't think Nolan's films were great, I gotta respect that.

I agree...I actually think the first one of this trilogy, Batman Begins, is better than TGK.

Yup. He'll have a slightly different origin and everything. I don't get this one. They could have waited another 3-7 years to remake Spider-man.

Spider-Man 3 was a mess. A re-boot is necessary (especially if they're adding Spidey to The Avengers 2).

Is this a possibility? I ask because Spider-Man is a loner who does not often associate with teams. He has been a member of The Avengers in the title, but it took a LOT of years before he joined them.

If I'm not mistaken, "Ultimate" or "the Amazing" Spider-Man is the one who was born with the powers and also a member of the Avengers for a short period of time during I believe the Secret Wars.

Green Lantern was alright. If they can re-cast the role and get rid of Ryan Reynolds (and Blake Lively), its sequels should do better.

and better cgi....so in other words everything

I stopped buying titles full-time around '93, so I am far from being current with comics continuity. I do know that Marvel has done reboots of its titles since that time. Characters are revised somewhat along with their histories.

The original Secret Wars hit newsstands before '93 back in the early/mid 80's. That was still about two or so decades after Stan Lee created The Avengers. I could be wrong, but I do not think that Spider-Man became a full-fledged Avenger before or during that period.

I was cool with the special effects. I thought that the Guardians were done really well. The actor playing Sinestro knock his role completely out of the park.

My beef is primarily with Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and whoever played the principal big headed villain. Physically, Reynolds was an excellent choice, but his dramatic acting sucks. Lively's performance was more coldfish than anything else. And the other lead actor was the worst of the main three in my opinion.

I do give Reynolds credit for the final Showdown at the Sun scene. That was outstanding and a credit to the book's character. Everything else about him? meh.

In my opinion, he should talk Marvel into doing a couple of Deadpool movies. His acting as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine was spot on. He nailed that character, probably because his comedic charm meshes well with the Deadpool's characteristics.

Green Lantern was excellent in one way though. Angela Bassett's legs were out of this world. :cunning:

lol, seriously though I always hope any comic book movie is good/does good. It'll only take a couple of duds to get studios to pull back on making them.
