I am really hoping we don't bring Terry back. I know we need a WR, and apparently Jerry doesn't think anyone that hasn't shared a shower with Romo is good enough to catch passes from him, but bringing him back just creates more problems than it solves.

I guy isn't coming back for a one year contract either, and his knee hasn't miraculously regenerated cartilage. We'd also be right back to being old at the WR position and unable to bring in young talent since that spot would be gone.

Jerry's comments regarding the fact that he doesn't want to bring in anyone that hasn't worked with Romo seemed to be a huge hint that they would contact Terry, but I definitely hope not.

I would love to have Glenn but the simple facts are his knee is shot and I really do not think he can do much if anything to help.

If his knees weren't shot then yeah everyone would love to have him back. But then again if his knees weren't shot he wouldn't have ever been looking for work in the first place.

Knew something was up when no one else thought about picking him up.

His knee must really be done.

Eh.. not a set back, not a progression stopper. He is familiar, we would only truely have the need for him for a couple weeks, and we wouldn't lose anybody if we ended up putting Stanback on IR for six weeks. I see no need to truely bring in him other than insurance which is cheaper than panicking and giving too much away for someone.

I wouldn't mind Glenn coming back if Stanback goes on I-R. We're more likely to get production out of Glenn at WR than Amendola or Jefferson and I think either Amendola or Jefferson could be cut and still land safely on the Cowboys practice squad.

If Glenn wants to play and he can run and cut.... sign him and have him play while the other WR's are on the mend.

If his knees are as bad a you people think then fine... Maybe Jerry can get a couple of games out of him..

If we stay dinged up at the WR position all year then I believe at some point he will be brought back.

Just not until we dont have to give him guaranteed money.

You can't put a player on IR for 6 weeks. Once he's on the IR, he's done for the season. Maybe you're thinking about the PUP list, but Stanback isn't eligible for that. Once you practice with the team you can't be put on the PUP. The NFL doesn't want teams hording players on the PUP with mystery injuries.

That's the way I look at it. I would rather have Terry Glenn off the streets and with a gimpy knee than Amendola and Jefferson. I think both of them are dime a dozen spares, and even if they don't clear waivers, we'll find a new batch of undrafted Amendolas and Jeffersons next year. We're not asking Glenn to stay healthy for the entire year, just long enough until Miles and Hurd get 100%. Anything he gives us beyond that would be gravy.

I would just put Stanback on IR, because I don't think he's ready to contribute a big role on this team even at 100%, much less 70%. The only problem is it really hurts his progression and his conversion to WR, because players on IR can't practice on the team. If you put him on IR at this stage in his development, it might set him back permamently.

Yeah, I meant PUP. My bad. My understanding, which is fuzzy to say the least, was that a player on the PUP list can't play for the first 6 weeks. I didn't know that if they practiced at all with the team then they are inelegible.

I don't want to see TG in dallas either.

If he is healthy enough and we are banged up bad enough then ill take him in a second.

That point right there is what makes me believe he is in the same category as Joe Horn. Dallas won't want to guarantee his salary for the whole season (unless it is the $500k Jerry offered to him in that split contract) so putting him on the roster for week 1 doesn't seem likely to me.

I agree with this thread 100 percent.....the guy was a great player for us....but, there is a reason other teams have not picked him up and it aint' the money

but were not back up bad enough. Our players should be able to come back by week 2 or 3. Austin should be back by week 2. So I'd rather not have him play for a week or on the roster at all. I don't even think he could pass a physical.
