The Bad

CeeDee just wasn't CeeDee.

In that last drive, they kept trying to get it all at once, instead of going for just first downs. They should have been draining the clock, not trying to score on big plays.
CeeDee does that from time to time.when things dont go well he gets in his head and isnt as productive. It looks a bit different but the green bay playoff game was similar although not as many drops. He takes himself out of games. I expect him to recover

I worry about Eberflus. I don't think he's a very good DC and I worry we are going to see a lot of Marinelli type games where they obsess with not getting beat with big plays but still give up long, nauseatingly deflating drives.

Sanders is cooked. Go with Williams and Blue IMO. That fumble was such a back breaker.

Pass rush is going to be a problem with no Parsons. DTs are mediocre, even Clark looked ehhhh last night.

Sanborn looked poor out there. If you are going to get that kind of up and down play from him, you might as well just play the young guys like Liafau who has actual upside. Sanborn has no upside.

Pickens penalty - selfish and asinine behavior.
No repercussions from Schottenheimer.

Turpin got lost in the rotation tonight - he was a zero - he’s a game breaker and we used him like a safety valve.
This guy has Tyreek wheels - what Is Schottenheimer thinking?

Jake Ferguson- dude Is soft / nowhere to be found .

OL in the 4th crunchtime

Ezerakiu is a cfl player - he’ll never see significant time. He was ragdolled tonite.

4th and 3 game on line Dak throws a prayer to CD ?
Aikman’s throwing a hard slant to Irvin or K- Mart or #84.
Didn’t like that gamble.

We should have could have won this game.

I didn’t like the lack of urgency .

Kneeland is a dawg but he may be one of the few.

We’re not running the ball vs NYG like we did tonite.

Not spying Hurts was beyond asinine.

Jack Sanborn is Jim Schwartz at best / he’s a ST guy backup LB.
Not the least bit impressed.

The team feels thin literally and figuratively.
No repercussions? What else happened in the locker room?

Some of you went to bed in 3rd quarter
If Sanders doesn’t fumble Or CD catches those drops we win
I agree with you, but it sure feels like a typical Monday in Cowboys land after a big game.

Also if the defense wasn’t just a open door in the first half and maybe held Philly to a punt, we could have held a lead

If you can’t stop the run in the NFL there’s nothing more disheartening.
In the second half we stopped the run for the most part.

D-EZ

Good and bad IMO.

He did screw up a few plays, I would argue as a rookie vs Fowlers as a vet.
However there were a few plays where he was the only one putting in the effort to get to Hurts when Hurts broke Contain. I seen at least three times when EZ was on one side of the line, Hurts ran to the other side. EZ ran twice as far as other players in pursuit.

Agreed with most of the other parts of your post.

One thing that was odd...They did use turpin early on a pass or two and a run or two but then just went away from it. The Eagles STs took him out of the return game.
I think he will be a good player in time. Although I wish they would give him a different number...hate newman number on a DE.
Thought the same. Looked like Newman blitzing off the edge all night.

I hear 11 is available lol.

That was an egregious, selfish penalty by Pickens. I would’ve benched him the rest of the game.
In middle school, yeah...this is big boy football....with real money being paid. Plus, I've seen much worse. People's jobs depend on wins and losses

Reasons for loss

1. Sanders fumble
2. CD drops
3. Prescott playing hero on 3rd and 3 with deep ball. Rush lanes wide open but he just wont rush and the Eagles knew it so they dont need to account fot him.

Too early to opine on Ezeiruaku, but he looked overmatched in pre-season and he looked really overmatched against the Eagles. He looks too small to me and all those moves that worked in college are not working against pro OTs even backups. Right now I fear he is not going to make it in the NFL, but it's just 1 game in his rookie year. But after last night, he and Fowler need their snaps reduced. Kneeland and James Houston need to play more.

I agree about Tolbert. He is in his 4th year. He should be better by now. He is an awful blocker and doesn't contribute much on offense. I think it's time to give Flournoy or Holden some opportunities to see if they can do better. Of course when Mingo gets back I have a feeling Tolbert will go to the bench. Until then, why not try someone else.

Turpin is a gimmick player. He is not a true WR. He will hit some of those plays from time to time and I think that's what they want from him.

Ferguson was a big disappointment last night. Who doubts Witten would have caught that ball in the end zone? Fergie has looked soft since he was injured last year. It was a tough catch but TEs have to be tough and they have to catch that pass. That's why I was a little surprised the Cowboys extended him. I really thought they would let him walk the way they let Schultz walk in free agency.

I also find it hard to believe the Cowboys let Hurts run around without a spy or to at least account for him running. He had a few huge running lanes because either Fowler or Ezeiruaku took themselves out of contain position. Hurts running outside should not have surprised anyone.

1. Turpin is not wr. Tolbert sucks and playing too much. Flournoy needs be wr 3

2. Cb need to tackle. Diggs and bland should have sacked hurts but whiffed

3. Lb play is disastrous- we need more speed.
That play where tolbert drifted to the back of the end zone instead of moving towards dak was a fatal mistake. Easy touchdown if he pulls his head out of his arse.

Let's talk about our blitzing CBs who got burned by Hurts all night long. Our guys had excellent chances to sack Hurts and they just sidestepped an out of controlled CB that led Hurts gaining 1st down yardage.

Ezaraku
I saw them hold EZ several times. No call.

If CD doesn't drop a slew of balls and Sanders doesn't fumble, Dallas wins.

Cut Sanders. He is slow and fumbles.
EZ was held all night. All of our DL were being held especially our DEs.
I someone post that EZ is too small and made a point about not having Micah. Well Micah is 6’3 245, EZ is 6’2 247 , but I get it. I have always said Micah was too small that’s why he was worn down by the end of the season and why he never focused on stopping the run. And the reason Micah is having back issues now is because he’s too small and those big lineman getting a hold of him and bending him back. Micah was double teamed by bad teams but the good teams blocked him with their OTs one on one I have seen OTs like Pene and Slater just manhandle Micah

so the runs that Hurts had were not planned runs, they were runs because the secondary had his receivers covered and the pass rush forced him to run his lineman were getting pushed back towards him he couldn’t just stand there and wait for someone to get open.

Defense was too conservative in the first half.
