1st down, line up in a base, running play, the D is geared and has the personnel to stop the run, 2 TEs at the line, 5 guys on the Oline, a RB and the QB in the backfield, 2 WRs out wide

then audible before the snap, shift Witten out wide

you got 7 potential blockers for the pass, the 5 Oline guys, Fasano, and Jones or Barber, and 3 very good WRs going out in pass routes, against a D who's personnel is geared toward stopping the run

excited

It will be nice if Garrett does motion Witten out to WR like he's said he'll do.

There's no doubt that it could creat problems for a defense.

I really want Garrett to have the TEs stretching the middle of the field, they'll create room for the running game, like Gates does for LT

Not too mention of those 5 o-line guys one just happens to be 'Bigg' - thats good enough for a pancake and a pick up block. The Oline should be stout if Flos healthy and Bigg plays like he did in the first 2 games. That will make our running game dangerous good. That in turn will make the passing game more effective and in turn, more dangerous.

Only we should be able to stop ourselves when we are firing on all cylinders.

Lets see how it all plays out, this is what makes it exciting.

just wait till next year when we draft a TE in the first round and break out the vaunted 3 TE set.

That formation is actually illegal (literally against the law). It's so amazing that it makes people's heads explode... the only way to stop that from happening is to put in a FB and RB and call it a goalline formation.

Garrett is quite likely to use Witten the way Novacek was used.

It would only be illegal if the WRs are on the line, if they are back a step then it is legal. Both OTs have to be covered with another guy on the line, either a WR or TE.

I take it you are new to American football.

I really liked what I saw from Tony Curtis, I believe he's another playmaker in the making! Dallas would be foolish not to keep that youngster around!

I like Curtis too but he needs to be more consistent in his route running as well as in his blocking. He shows flashes at times but then blows an assignment the next play. Hopefully, that improvement will come with increased playing time.
