All active players are excluded. Ultimately, I see at least see three rounds being replaced by currently active players.

1. DeMarcus Ware
2. Larry Allen
3. Jason Witten
4. Marion Barber*
5. Orlando Scandrick
6. Nick Folk
7. Jay Ratliff*

* I have listed the players whose careers most benefited the Dallas Cowboys. However, were they the best Cowboys pick in their particular round?

An argument can be made that the best 4th round pick was G Ron Stone, a ten year starter and three timer Pro Bowler who spent time with the Giants, Packers and Raiders.

Likewise, the best 7th round pick could very well be S Brock Marion, a ten year starter and three time Pro Bowler, mostly for the Dolphins.

4th round is 100% Dak Prescott. Heck Pollard is better than Barber.

Ill take Micah Parsons over Ware. I would also take Martin over Ware.

Scanrick?

I am just grasping at straws here but I have a nagging suspicion 90%+ of upcoming posts will center upon the 4th round.

Maybe 95%.

Parsons - I think he is better than Ware at this point in their careers
Allen - HoF
Witten - HoF
Prescott - multiple pro bowls at the QB position. one of the best 4th round picks ever
Scandrick - best of a putrid bunch
Wilson - came into his own last year and was better than Reese and Woods
Ratliff - his exit was ugly but he made All Pro

Gotta agree with this. Looks spot on.

Reading comprehension escapes some people.

Post-Jimmy, NON-ACTIVE players from the round that they were drafted in.
And look who started it off. . . .He just had to mention #4 in a thread that it would be impossible to mention him

Jeez

Didn't even read the first sentence of the post did you? Just saw 4 and everything went red.

There is no doubt in my mind that half this list will change within the next ten years.

I'd probably go with Wilson, too, since Folk was only here three seasons and only good the first two. Wilson earned a second contract with his play last year. (Oops, non-active.)

Not really a lot of competition for the best sixth-rounder outside of those two even if you include active players. Hopefully, someone out of Mukuamu, Bohanna, Harper, Scott and Vaughn will come through and challenge Wilson for the title.

I can't give Parsons the nod over Ware yet (even if it were allowed). Need to see more. Ware had 117 sacks during his career with Dallas. Parsons has 26.5. A long way to go and lot can happen during that time. Ware is a Hall of Famer too.

Fifth round needs someone to step up, too. Bland and Clark are off to good starts. Otherwise, Scandrick is the clear winner.

I agree that Ware has the better body of work but barring injury I think Parsons is on track to be better. Ware was just coming into his own in year 2 while Parsons is already in DPoY contention.

You're not wrong though.

If you are citing active players then you are predicting the future. This is why I omitted them.

I can give you a "what if" scenario for every active player, both good or unfortunate.

Obviously, if I was to base a current player's entire career on what they have done so far and assume that trajectory, this list would be entirely different.

However, when I consider the careers of Cowboys players like 1st round draft picks Mike Sherrard and Billy Cannon Jr, I know better than to assume.

That is fair man. I made a mistake.
