A great show that only survived one season was "Firefly". You used to be able to watch the complete series on Hulu.com. They made a movie out of it called "Serenity". Really good characters & good mix of sci-fi & western (I know, sounds strange). If it's still on over at hulu, check it out - starting with episode one. Adam Baldwin (from Chuck) is on the show... basically plays the same kind of character. The girl from "V" is also in it... Morena Baccarin. Also Nathan Fillian (from "Castle"). One of my top 5 shows of all time.

I loved that show. I was so disappointed when it got cancelled. The network dropped the ball on that one.

The movie was pretty good too.

Yeah, it's such a shame it didn't last. Extreme fail on Fox's part.

Don't forget Christina Hendricks showed up there as well. She's the very voluptuous (friggin hot) Joan in "Mad Men".

One of the greatest one season shows is Harpers Island that kept me on my toes the whole season especially at the end. I love that shoe keep it recorded until a month after the season was over

If I had to pick any show to watch, I would have to go with The Wire.

The West Wing would be very close however.

Firefly died because there were no where near enough people who really liked it. Serenity barely made a profit so that is why there have been no more. There is a critical mass of necessary fans that are required to keep any show alive and Firefly did not have enough.
