Pretty self-explanatory.

We all hear about the 72 Dolphins or 85 Bears. But which team do you believe is the best group you've ever seen on the field.

This is Cowboys' related Mods because I'm sure we're going to get a lot of 90s Cowboys' teams for answers and I'm very curious to know how our fans view the dynasty and which of those teams was the best, most talented, best coached, etc.

My personal answer, might be a tad unpopular, but its the 2007 New England Patriots. Fresh from the spygate scandal, the hoodie wanted to send a message to the league. Brady threw for 50 TDs, Moss looked like the 98 version of himself, and they were absolutely unstoppable. Granted they slipped up against an opportunistic Giants team that seemed to have the football Gods in their corner that year, but in my 23 years of fanhood - I've never seen a team look so unbeatable.

The 1992 Dallas Cowboys. Period.

Same answer my dad always gives. I was only 5 at the time, what made that team so special? NFL films and highlight tapes only go so far.

B I N G O !

The '92 team would run roughshod over that pathetic 2007 Patriots defense.

Domination in every facet of the game, and a true team mentality. I was 7 years old and I remember Dallas blowouts.

As much as the loved the 90s cowboys, the 85 bears were a freak of nature.

The 1985 Bears. To this day I am shocked they lost that one game.

The thing about the 85 Bears was that it was a new pressure scheme that teams couldn't figure out at the time. Marino could beat it because of his quick release. I predicted that loss in high school, me and another kid had a big argument over it. The Bears offense was rather weak as Super Bowl teams go, it was all about the defense.

'85 Bears. That may have been the last time I knew for certain which team would win the Super Bowl before the game kicked off.

I never saw the 85 Bears but I saw the 07 Pats so I'll go with them. The helpless feeling of Tom Brady versus Jacques Reeves comes to mind, even though we were one of the top 4 teams in the league and dismantled the Greenbay team that took the Giants to overtime.

The Ravens game that seemed like a superbowl because they only lost by like 7?

What they did to the Bills and Commanders. Yeah that team.

On a relative basis I'd probably say the 85 Bears as well. That defense was amazing, and the offense better than people thought.

But I still say that in general, football got progressively better as the years went on (as you'd expect) up until the time when free agency started. And the two best teams up to that point were us and the Niners. So I still think our 92 team and the 94 Niners were probably two of the best ever, with of course our team winning out since we beat them more often.

The Ravens team that beat the Giants comes to mind as well. The only thing holding them back was that godawful offense of theirs.

1993 Cowboys. If Emmitt doesn't hold out they go 14-2 or 15-1. We started to lose a lot of our depth in the following offseason.

I'll only pick teams that I saw:

1977 Cowboys - #1 offense, #1 defense in league. Great balance offensively, and had a great pass rush to protect leads.

1984 49ers - As much as I hate the 49ers, this team was seriously underrated. Montana was at his best, and the defense was very tough with Fred Dean and a very solid secondary.

1985 Bears - the equivalent of Mike Tyson of the same era - opponents were defeated before the ball was snapped.

The 85 Bears were absolutely, totally dominating. Anybody that voted for 92/93 Cowboys - you are a complete homer. As much as I love the Boys, there isn't a comparison.

This site says we were #2 on offense and #8 on defense.

Yet they couldn't sustain said greatness beyond one year? After 86, elite teams like the Commanders and 49ers began to figure these guys out. The 92/93 Cowboys would definitely give these guys a run for their money.

Everybody went to school on that Miami game. All the OCs around the league realized that multiple receiver offenses could beat that pressure 46 and the next year, you saw every team in the league trying to use it against the Bears.
