Vs the raiders was his hard count that drew Oakland offsides. If he does that consistently like Aaron Rodgers does and gets free plays :omg:. Chunk it up to Dez every single time that happens. Dez was talking to the official after the play too. I'm hoping we see this happen week 1 with the Giants antsy Dline

Dak also knows how to give up on trying to pass the ball and just running with it and dropping before taking a hit. Romo got smashed plenty of times because he simply would never give up on a play.

Agree. Also he at least looks bigger / more compact than Tony so some of those DB's probably don't want a collision with him

A third I believe is crossing routes. I think Dak does a much better job with those and never felt they were a strength of Romo's game.

Tony's biggest weakness to me was the underneath around the LB routes. Thinking back on many of the game enders thats where the INT's occurred. Dak , at least to date, has shown a better awareness in that regard.

One thing I've noticed this preseason is more no -huddle and more hurry-up offense. Not sure if this a Dak thing as much as an evolution of the offense. Regardless, I like seeing the offense put pressure on the defense with a more hurry up style.

I was going to mention that too. I liked seeing that against the Colts as they moved the ball up and down the field. I hope to see more of it as I think it provides a nice advantage.

They even schemed around that problem by minimizing routes in those areas. If you looked at one of those graphic depictions of where all the route were run in games, the Cowboys in later Romo years looked different than most other teams with an obvious attempt to minimized routes in that short middle area.

Many great points here which just reminds me how giddy and thrilled I am to have made a seamless transition from one franchise QB to another, younger QB that appears to be on a trajectory to be even better.

We're so damn lucky because we could have been staring at the QB abyss that so many other teams have faced for years. Time for Carlton...

Best thing I saw is that Dak was winging that ball. His arm strength has really improved from last year.

Not so sure it wasn't more of Linehan's lack of crossing routes and slants in his game plan.
