The best victory of them all: A better draft status

This team has no depth. If Barber goes down we don't have a back that can pick up the blitz. If Felix Jones goes down we have no back that can go a whole game and play the east-west game. If an OLineman goes down we have no answer along the OL. Even if a WR doesn't go down, we have no answer at WR, and our best #2 WR RW11 just went down.

And that's just on offense. The story is the same on defense. And even if we had the needed depth we clearly don't have a coaching staff that knows how to maximize the production from the players they do have.

But I'll leave the coaching issues to the 3,000 other threads going on in this website. What this thread is about is the depth. Yeah, that depth; the depth we don't have.

That's what this team really needs. And for once they need to get it from the draft. And I hate to say it, but I'm no longer interested in a "tease" season. I have no faith in this team to win; they’ve un-earned it.

So what I want is for as many young players to play so that the new coaching regime, whoever it is, has enough footage on all young Cowboys players in real-game situations to make the best determination of who to keep or axe based on the system they intend to run.

And in that process - as you play young unproven talent - games will be lost. But why's that so bad since we're likely to miss or exit the playoffs prematurely anyway?

At least with stock-piling the losses in this fashion, the team can develop some young talent and gain a higher draft picking-status in the process. And for this team, that may be the best victory of them all (as pathetic as that truth is).
