It is clear that Dak's contract is a problem for the cowboys,, but not its the only problem, next year is going to be chaos, for the following year only 40 players have been signed, the rest are free agents... and that is not the problem, the problem is that Dak is going to cost 49M, Zeke 17M, Gallup 14M, Tyron 17M, Zack Martin 19M, DLaw 26M , Jordan Lewis 6M, Dorance Armstrong 7M !!!`, in 8 players you have practically half of the cap consumed.

Armstrong and Lewis need to go via trado or cut, and save 9M, Dlaw restructure to save 9M, cut or trade him its impossible, restructure Tyron to save 6M no other option, cut Zeke, to save 10M, no one is going to want Zeke via trade because the contract he has, with this they save 34M, very little money knowing they have free agents like Donovan Wilson, Tony Pollard, Noah Brown, Dante Fowler, Anthony Barr, Johnathan hankins, Cooper rush, Connor McGovern, Terence Steele, what a problem.

Let’s just try to enjoy this year, ok? Worry about 2023 when it gets here. We can’t do anything anyways.

The Rams seem to find a way, not worried about the cap they will get it sorted.

of this list,

Donovan Wilson, Tony Pollard, Noah Brown, Dante Fowler, Anthony Barr, Johnathan hankins, Cooper rush, Connor McGovern, Terence Steele

Wilson and Steele will be the priority. Dante, Barr, Hankins are all 1 year rentals. Love to have TP back but feels like the draft will fix that and Connor McGovern wont cost much. I dont think Noah will cost a lot either tbh.

WR, OG, DT will all be addressed quite high in next years draft, as well as LB, CB and other role players in later rounds. They went through the whole list on Players Lounge the only people I care about losing are Steele and Wilson as well...if McGovern can be had for cheap I re-sign him too. Everyone else is a nice to have rental...the Cowboys are good at getting other players in on low avg yr contracts and having them play for another big pay day. Unfortunately with the deals we have now...Zeke is the worst one...say what you want about Dak but he at least plays top 10 at his position I don't think Zeke can do that anymore

We'll see about Tyron...DLaw is also playing worth his money. Too early to kill Gallups deal. Zack Martin worth every penny...your post is so off it's not even funny lol. Good players cost money - what are you going to say when Micah Parsons is the highest LBer paid in NFL history?

I'm just focused on this season and not going to worry about next year until the season is over in Feburary ;). Dak will be restructured and they'll add a dummy year if needed. They have options with Tyron, Zeke, Gallup, Lawrence, Martin, etc. too.

And none of that will matter if we win the SB this year. :)

Dak's contract will be restructured, which will bother some folks because it will extend his stay with the Cowboys.

Tyron Smith could be a cap casualty in 2023, given his inability to stay healthy and the emergence of Tyler Smith.

There is not really enough room to restructure Dak's contract which ends after the 2024 season. At some point they will have to give him a new deal. But that means another negotiation. Since Dak insisted on a 4 year deal the last time that is a clear hint he will be looking for more money. What if he ants $55 million? I am willing to wait and see what happens this year before committing to a new deal for Dak, but it is certain at some point the Cowboys are going to have to pay the bill for Dak and all the restructures. I don't know that it has to be next year but it is coming at some point. At this point, there is no way I want to pay Dak more than $40 million on his next deal. He is getting way more than he deserves on his current deal.

They can try to trade Tyron and DLaw. I don't know that they will need Tyron. DLaw is a loss but they he may be a CAP casualty. I am not saying they will get a lot for Tyron but the 49ers gave Washington a 3rd and 5th for Trent Williams when he was 32. Tyron will be 32 next year. There are teams with CAP room and needs of a LT who might be willing to make a deal. DLaw is a good player and they could get a 4th or 5th for him as well.

Zeke has to be a post June 1 cut. No one is going to pick up his salary which means he cannot be traded. Restructuring his deal, which has 4 years left on it after this year, is possible but it would be the dumbest thing the Cowboys could do.

The Cowboys can get under the CAP in 2023 and still have room to sign some of their current players, but overpaying Dak and Zeke has a price that will be paid with the rest of the roster. The Cowboys, I assume, think they can continue their draft magic but if they have an off year, or we get a weak draft class, it is going to hurt this team.

This, this is basically kicking the can down the road, you can only do that for so long. On trying to trade T. Smith after his injury history I do not think one team would trade for him, because you know it is coming just a matter of when.

Have no fear the Cap will go up 300% for next year.......:muttley:

Believe it or not, despite Dallas wing so dependent on the draft and home grown players, they are very much like every team in the NFL. A big roster turnover is an annual event. Every year your football team is quite different. I am not at all worried about the contracts or the salaries. Win now. Everything should be about this team right now because they do have an outside chance at a championship.

The Jones boys will manage the cap, and if someone earns a big free agent payday or someone else needs to be dumped for not living up to his contract, how is that any different than this past year? Remember all the hand-wringing over Collins (OT), Williams (G), Cooper (wr), Wilson (wr), and Gregory (DE)? Those guys were all starters or huge contributors. We seem to have landed on our feet pretty good.

The best thing that can happen to Dallas is if Tyron comes back in December and plays really well without getting reinjured. His injury history makes his value lower, but I do think the Cowboys will find a trade partner. If he is healthy he can still play. I am sure Joe Burrow would love to have him as his left tackle right about now. The Bengals current LT is awful.

If they play him anywhere other than LT also..the problem is teams now know he will not be this teams LT next season, to keep the trade value high they need to show he can fill in at another OL position. Otherwise you get the Collins treatment where the other teams will wait till you dont carry him as the swing tackle ...which maybe thats what the Cowboys do.

Eh, Dak will get restructured whether we like it or not. Tyron will probably be gone if Tyler keeps it together and who knows with Lawrence. They probably restructure him in some way- I am not a cap guru but they probably can convert his salary to signing bonus and spread that.

Some will be restructure and some will be casualty of the cap. Tryon I don't expect to be back next year, I seriously doubt Zeke will be back at his current pay, I think Cowboys will ask for a pay cut and a good chance of an outright release if he choose not to. As it stand now Cowboys for 2023 are 5 plus mill under the cap more room will be needed but very doable. Not to mention the cap is estimated to go up to 230 mill next season it is currently 208

..cut Lewis,Tyron. Lewis is avg at best. Tyron, mate is always hurt. Restructure Zeke or trade him. Keep Pollard if price is right.
