Does it seem like we are going this route?

  1. Pac Man
  2. Anquan
  3. McFadden
sure seems like that is the goal of the Jones's

Only problem with that is it would take a miracle to get Boldin if we get McFadden.

Or maybe just a future #1.

Do people realize that getting one of these high profile wide recievers means we have to give them a new contract? And with whichever reciever we do get we are going to have to resign TO also? Do we have enough cap room for that? Doubt it.

3- No dice. No chance. No way. No how. I'm looking for Jamal Charles in Rd2

Can someone please give a reasonable scenario where we "get McFadden?" I don't see it.

I really have to laugh when someone says "no way" on a player. No, not laughing directly at you... just the ephatic "no".... it is a very possible "yes"

I assume you see a plausible scenario with that outcome. Humor me.

I have a feeling that we have been witnessing Jerry reverting back to his old ways. I see him getting WHAT HE WANTS done.

Pac - I think he feels he can get him cheap and contruct a safe contract
Mac - I see him doing a deal with Al Davis
Boldin - where there is a will there is a way

Ok. There are laws against elderly abuse though.

Doesn't TO count about 7 mil against the cap this year, it would be wise to extend him and save about 3 or 4 mil towards this years cap....

I hate to burst you bubble.
Needs
1. CB
2. Return man
3. RB
4. WR
When we sign Pacman it looks more like.
1. RB
2. WR
When we sign a top notch guy like Chad, Roy or Anquan it looks like this(next years first).
1. RB
2 first round picks + one need +lack of talent in the 20's(since we only have 21 players 1st round worthy)= DARREN MCFADDEN BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To answer your question in order to get McFadden at #4 (Oakland) it would cost somewhere in the neighboorhood of the two firsts #22,28 and our second (#61) plus a late round pick. Or the two firsts and next years #1.

This is assuming Al Davis wants to trade down.Everything I've heard says he loves DMac and is going to pick him at #4. Some people forget that even if Jerry wants to make a trade up he still has to find a trading partner.

Of course in his scenario we get Boldin, which will probably cost an additional #1, and of course thats assuming Arizona really wants to trade him. There are no indications that they do. He wants a new contract because of the Fitzgerald deal, and Arizona will be hard pressed to pay them both, but that doesn't mean they want to unload him now.

So to recap in order to get PacMan, Boldin and DMac its going to cost both #1's this year, our #2 this year, two late round picks this year, and our #1 next year. On top of that we would have to come to terms with Boldin on a new deal probably worth near 10M a year, and pay DMac #4 overall money somewhere north of the 6 yr/46M dollar contract signed by the 2007 #4 pick Gaines Adams. PacMan would at least be cheap financially. Sure it could happen

Dante Hall, who is considered a pretty fair CB in the NFL, got traded for a 2nd and futures. I don't know if you could trade for Boldin with a 2nd but I think you could probably work out a trade for Williams for a 2nd. Jones will come much cheaper IMO. I think a 5th could get a guy who may or may not be playing this year. Now is the time to trade for him at best value, if that's what you want to do. I don't want the guy but if that is the decisison, then now is the time. If you wait till he's declared, price will go up if the decision is in his favor. If not, price will fall off the table and Tennessee gets nothing for him. I don't think we are going after DMac but that doesn't mean we might not be interested in that pick. There are several players there that could help us a lot. I honestly don't know if Oakland has money to be able to sign the 4th player or not. They may or they may not. They've spent a lot of money this year already. It may be in there best interests to trade down and save money. They might even be much more interested in trading down and trading for future draft picks. You never know.

I gave up worrying about fitting guys under the salary cap a couple years ago from watching the redstinks.

The salary cap is a joke and we all know it. If you want one, two, three guys, I don't care what they cost, it can be done. The skins have proved that.

You want to argue that it SHOULDN"T be done for obvious reasons (look at the pathetic skins) then knock yourself out, I won't argue with you. But I'll never argue that it "can't" be done. Cause it can. Quit fooling yourselves.

Regardless, the one BIG advantage that we have this year is that we are the ONLY team with 2 first rounders. That does give us flexibility to move up and down in this draft without having to mortgage the future.

Oakland will clear enough cap room to sign whoever they draft be it McFadden or our two #1's. The 1st year cap hit for McFadden at #4 will probably only be around $3M. The cap hits of the #22 and #28 combined probably about $2.5M, not much of a savings.

i remember back in the Camp era we signed a big three. It was Stepnoski, Quentin Coryatt and one other guy who I cannot think of right now.

God we sucked that year.
