Clarence Hill, Jr's article confirms much of this, in a direct Jerry quote, "Jerry was asked if he'd ever give up Cowboys GM post. He answered, "No, no. Somebody asked me after I bought the team, did you buy it for the kids?"I'll say it again: JJ is not sacrificing wins to make more money or sell more t-shirts. He has a hobby that he enjoys and can afford. He's not very good at it, but that doesn't matter because he can afford it.
"I said, Hell No. I bought it for myself. I bought an occupation, Something I could do for the rest of my life. And that's what I'm doing."
Problem for fans is, as you say....Jerry is bad at his hobby, something I understand--my hobby is playing my guitar, and trust me, I'm pretty lousy. But his ineptitude boggles the mind, and it keeps getting worse. The Cowboys are becoming irrelevant, as the Forbes ratings and sweatshirt sales soar. Whoopee Doo.
