And it was Parcells biggest flaw.

They are COWBOYS.

When Parcells told stories of greatness it was always Giants, Jets or Patriots...he never gave these guys a connection to the greatest of OUR HISTORY.

I fully expect the team to now realize the honor of wearing that star on their helmet...and hopefully they live up to that honor,

I agree with that and it's one of the things that always irritated me about Parcells.

I don't want to hear stories about "LT" or "Jumbo" or "Simms" or see Jim Burt on the sidelines.

Here's an idea:

Go away and stop hi-jacking threads.

Mods can we have some troll relief until the draft?

Great post. And it will feel even that much better if we can win it with a "Cowboy"

Parcells was here to win it all, but not so much as a Cowboy.

I agree. Parcells will never be remembered in a kind way for his time in Big D and that's just fine with me. He's a NJ guy and all his success is up there. When we look back at Cowboys history 20 years from now he'll be just another footnote. Let's hope Norv and Jason become much more!! Here's to bringing our guys home!:beer2:

Nate Newton was a Cowboy, too. Why don't we make him head coach?

I usually agree with you on things, BZ, but you're really reaching here. Parcells' stories about the old glory days in New York might have been a little irritating, but simply having a past with a franchise doesn't mean a hill of beans when it comes to getting results as a coach.

If Garrett is so good why in the heck do we need 2 OC's?

Defense killed us last year and we need a 3-4 guru.

Guess what the only candidate that fits that bill is? :D

Thats all well and good. Does any one think these players actually care about old Cowboy players? I can see owens now, sleeping through the stories. Unless it's about Smith dropping the hugest pass of his career.

Thats right.. Cowboys indeed!

And lets bring in Campo too doggone it!

Glory days and honor are restored overnight! ;)

I'm on board.

I'm actually hoping Norv brings Singletary with him for DC myself.
Now if that happens that is the biggest (and only?) positive to Turner.

I'm not sold on Norv, but if we have to have him I'm on board with Singletary.
