Pretty weird. Guess teams would rather try something new than go with something they don't think will work.

Makes sense I suppose. Rather than hoping your guy will start getting it right, get a new guy. Not really much to lose. If the guy is doing a piss poor job, you aren't gonna take much of a hit by making the switch.

I think the Chiefs will be able to handle it the most. Haley is an offensive guy so he can just take over.

As that ship starts to sink, how enjoyable is it going to be to see TO spouting off in another team's uniform? That situation has disaster written all over it.

I love it. I hope he has an emotional breakdown again.

They say things happen in threes, well, that's 3.

I've never seen anything like this.

I think its possible that another team could drop their OC or DC before next week.

Any team that is thinking about it is probably going to pull the trigger.

Owens has been quite. Probably not him this time.

Some advice from a fantasy football aspect. The three teams that fired their offensive coordinators this weeki; Bills, Bucs, 49ers. Do not draft any players from those teams. If you have any, trade them immediately. These will most likely be the three worst teams in the league this year, with the Rams.

It wasn't the 49ers, it was the Chiefs.

Okay, this is getting a little weird to have so many Offensive Coordinators get the axe right before the season starts.

Not really. It's a copy cat league, i.e. the wildcat.

Do I think TO went to the Bills management and told him to fire the offensive coordinator? No. So I don't "blame" TO for this.

Do I think holding ridiculous parades and providing keys to the city to proven knuckleheads, somehow believing a washed up 35 year old WR past his prime is going to take you to the promise land, might cause a circus-like, frenzied atmosphere with lots of media scrutiny which might then lead to rash, knee-jerk over reactions instead of calm, rational decisions? Yes. So, I do think the signing attributes itself to things like this.

This is why I always crack up when people say things like "It's only a 1 year deal. There's no risk". No, there is always risk. They may not be empirically measurable or quantified on a balance sheet, but there are risks. These aren't just names jotted down on a piece of paper like fantasy football or a series of 1's and O's programmed into a Madden video game. This is the real world and these are real human beings. There are always consequences, usually unforeseen, when you're tinkering with something as delicate and volatile as human dynamics.

I listen to a lot of Buffalo sports radio. The issue is with Edwards. He is checkdown king. He has open receivers in the pattern but always seems to come of and throw the short 3 or 4 yard completion to a back or TE.

In News conferences he has defended his actions by saying he is taking what he has been given and is playing exactly the way he has been coached.

I imagine this is a way to stir him (Edwards ) up and get him to grow a couple and throw downfield a little more ( or any for that matter).

Schonert says Jauron wants a "Pop Warner offense"
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 6, 2009 8:38 AM ET
While Dick Jauron and his new offensive staff were breaking bread with Ralph Wilson in Detroit, former Bills offensive coordinator Turk Schonert decided to get a few things off his chest.

In comments to Buffalo television station WIVB (via Tim Graham at ESPN), Schonert popped off about the disagreements he had with Bills head coach Dick Jauron. Specifically, he says Jauron wants an offense built more for middle schoolers.

"He told me the offense wasn't simple enough for him. We had too many formations, too many plays. I didn't simplify it to his liking," Schonert said.

"He wants a Pop Warner offense. He limited me in formations and limited me in plays. He's been on my back all offseason."

Um, wow.

Without knowing more about the situation, it's hard to tell if Schonert has a legitimate beef or whether this is just a case of sour grapes. And while the Bills offense has clearly been lacking all preseason, it's fair to say that Jauron has exhibited no ability to make the right decisions to direct a quality NFL offense as a head coach.

The last eight teams Jauron has coached have failed to be in the top 20 offenses in the league in yards, and only his 2001 Bears were in the top 20 in points. Jauron is a defensive-minded coach, but clearly his hires on offense have left a lot to be desired.

Including Schonert

Look for every pass to go to TO. Juaron is desperate and clueless, he'll be fired by week 8.
