my Commanders just showed how you beat the up and coming saints,i must admit i did not expect my skins to beat them today just based on how are season has gone...but i knew they had the talent to do it if they came together..its been a weird year for the Commanders, cause they are physical and close to talented as any current playoff team, but things just didnt go there way this year...but todays game showed what they are capable of..being a skins fan of course i cant wish you well from this point on,so please dont win another game this season....LOVE a skins fan...

The Commanders definitely showed the Cowboys how it could be done if we will only learn from it and implement it. Therein lies the problem but we will see.

Greg Williams > Mike Zimmer.

Yet Dallas has the better defense this season. The Commanders are near the bottom in sacks and turnovers this year. I thought that was a bad thing, so how can Williams be better than Zimmer?

The Commanders were flawless handling the passes out of the backfield today. They really did a great job on defense and ran all over the Saints.

But great d-coordinators can get by with little talent. That is what is supposed to make them great. If Williams can't do that, then why is he so great? People were critical of Zimmer when he had little talent in Dallas.

I don't think Dallas right now has as much talent as this board want to believe. At least the talent needed to run an aggressive all out defense that many crave. The guys on this team just don't fit that type of scheme. The reason I know this is because I watch them struggle to win their one on one match ups. If Canty and Spears can't beat the guys in front of them to get to the QB, then how are they going to be effective running stunts? Talented pass rushers are the ones that open things up. Charles Haley could win his match ups and then stunt to open up lanes for others. It also helped that he would stunt with another talented lineman in either Maryland or Lett. Is Dallas going to gain anything by stunting Canty and Ferguson except to open up a lane for the offense? Plus what about the free safety? What good does it do to blitz all the time, when the free safety is just going to let the receivers get deep?

its called get to the QB...knock him down...mess up his rythem...dont make it so easy to throw a nearly perfect pass on deep ball after deep ball

What is your point? Do you think that I don't want to see Dallas pressure the QB? Do you think Canty and Spears can do that or do you truly think Zimmer is holding them back? Or how about when it is 3rd and long and Dallas goes to a nickel. Is Zimmer telling his guys not to go after the QB? Is he the one telling them not to beat the man in front of him? Just wanting the defense to pressure the QB does not mean it is going to happen. Any new defensive coach that comes in only has the current players on the team to worth with. That doesn't mean they suddenly turn into pass rushers although some of them are still pretty young and may learn a few skills. If Williams were so great, he could get constant pressure from his squad, but he lacks talent according to you. That only seems to matter for him and not for Zimmer I guess.

Something to think about. When the great Gregg Williams faced Drew Bledsoe this season, he didn't go after Drew? Instead he chose to try and confuse him with coverage.

From what I saw, the Skins were able to get some pressure on Brees and keep him from being able to just sit back there untouched and pick the secondary apart.
ding ding ding ding ding....we somehow think the #1 offense in the league will make a mistake if we just sit back long enough and wait...I know our personell is not WORSE than the Commanders...and I know there are lot's of factors to consider...but our gameplan is just completely wrong at times...did you see the Eagles make Eli uncomfortable...did you see the Commanders make Brees life uncomfortable....that is exactly what teams did/do to Drew Bledsoe....MAKE HIS LIFE UNCOMFORTABLE...did you see Rex Grossman throw for over 300 yards today? My point is...if we play this stupid prevent defense for 60 mins in the playoffs...we could get our a** kicked on our own field. Like I said earlier..I live 20 mins from DC...so I saw the Saints/Skins game...it does not shock me at all that the Skins did not allow Brees to get untracked...and of course I am glad the Skins won...because it helps us....but I hate that we had to rely on them to do our dirty work..
