I really think the older you and I and others like us get the more we will see things like this. Most of the kids have heard of Roger and seen NFL films of him, but probably didn't watch many of his games live, and if they did, have foggy memories of it. It is just the nature of sports I guess, TODAYS heroes carry the day, YESTERDAYS heroes get forgotten.

As an Aikman fan I get weary, for example, of hearing people talk about how immobile he was, when anyone who actually watched the entirety of his career, instead of just his last few years, knows that he could move around pretty well when he came into the league. They only remember his days after numerous hits and some pretty severe back problems.

Its just the nature of the beast.

If it came down to Roger vs. any of the "Big 3" from the 90s, I'd vote Roger off the island.

I never saw the man play live (being that I'm 23), and he retired years before I was born. So needless to say, he's FAR from my favorite Cowboys player, which is what this game is about.

If the game were titled, "The best player from the ROH", my mind-set would be different and I'd give Roger more love.

Ya'll missed my point. Roger was negative voted over other guys from that era. That's a bit shocking to me. I like Chuck Howley and Bob Hayes and Rayfield Wright a lot. I find it hard to imagine that people like them better than Roger Staubach.

TX Yid probably is right, strategy for their own candidates. I guess however you play the game is up to you. I wasn't dissing the opinions, just expressing shock.
