The Cowboys are a pretty good team (at least in the NFC). I think they can pretty much hold their own with anybody in the NFC including the Packers, Commanders and Eagles....

But...

Let's not kid ourselves guys... We are not now nor maybe ever be an ELITE team with this group of players...

If we were to play the Patriots 5 times in a row, we might (Might) beat them once... They are just that good this year...

If we were the play the Colts on a neutral field 5 times in a row we might (Might) beat them twice if we got all the breaks...

We might win a 5 game series with Pittsburg but it's iffy at best.

Our seconday play shows why this team may never be elite... Even with the slow-footed Henry in there, we would still be in deep troulbe with great quarterbacks like we faced yesterday... You can play pretty well with maybe one average safety on an elite team but not like we have...

This team would be like the 4th best team on average in the AFC and that's all we can expect for this year.... Maybe with a couple of good drafts we might get to elite status but never this year....

We have now shown every good quarterback in the league just how to smoke us and we won't be able to find many answers this year.

I don't know if there are any shut-down corners in next years draft, but we better use that 1st pick on the best one available....

Maybe we go to the show in February but we won't get no dough....

Dallas will win the NFC and be a Super Bowl underdog but justice will be served as just like in 2001 when New England was the underdog to the mighty Rams Dallas will fight to the end and win a on a last second Folk field goal, thereby poetically ending the Patriot dynasty and launching their own.

I would prefer a blow out with us driving at the end of the game and running the ball in to the endzone with 1 second left at the end of the fourth quater on fourth down to go up by 28...now that would be justice. that and belicheck getting hit in the head with the NBC sky cam :)

The Pats didn't expose us in this game. The whole NFL knows our pass coverage can't get the job done. We've got the makings of a good offense (good young QB, RB in Barber) but need improve at WR (TO/Glenn age & backups) and our offense must stop with the penalties. Our defense needs some big help in the pass rush both in the secondary and in the front 7. Smart draft/1-3 good FA signings should get the job done. Too many teams have shown how quickly a team's fortunes can improve with good talent identification.

But the most important thing we must remember is that we are the 3rd youngest team in the NFL. We lack veteran leadership so it comes from our younger guys who lack playoff experience, etc. Teams in many cases learn more from a significant loss when it administered by best NFL team. Our glow was diminished but Jerry & Ireland now should clearly see the warts and begin to make those few needed changes to get us to the elite. We aren't one player away but 3-4 should do it. But we still should have a good season and hopefully grow from this experience. Next biggest step is to put the loss behind us and for the Cowboys to come out against the Vikes blazing & with a chip on their shoulder.

And the overreaction continues.

Yep. It just keeps coming.

Yeah, we missed Henry yesterday, but we also missed Terry Glenn, Jason Ferguson, and a completely healthy Terence Newman.

Big time players were not there for this game. But the Cowboys mental mistakes (penalties) are what killed us for the most part.

The game was closer than the score. That last TD was more of a "run-it-up" type TD with about 20 seconds left in the game. They should have just downed the ball. But the Pats are all about class right? Let's not even mention the popcorn that was delivered to their locker room after the game in a mocking fashion.
