The Brandin Cooks trade doesn't solve the problem. It is the problem!

When Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.

Saints, Pats, Rams, Texans, and now the Cowboys. A lot of folks on here are caught up by a name they recognize and a player some wanted during the season, last year. And I'll be the first to admit that Brandin Cooks is a NICE player, he isn't what this team needs.

This team needs an offensive weapon. A "game wrecker" of sorts. Not another nice WR that will fight for number 2 touches in our offense.

It points to the obvious blind spot in the front office that most of here can see but some are blinded too as well.

IMO settling for anything short of DHop or OBJ is just that. Settling.

I am not sure why people keep acting like OBJ is this upper tier, elite WR still. Or that we should question Cooks on his 5th team in 9 years but somehow OBJ bouncing around like a fool isn't equally perplexing/questionable.

cooks>>>>obj. How can you even call obj a game wrecker when he hasn’t played in 2 years? We have no idea what he is. Ceedee established himself as a 1 last year and while I’d have rather we gotten Hopkins, cooks is a good player who can stretch the field and open things up with his speed.

Good move by the front office and the cowboys will be better because of it

I disagree. Cook has put up the numbers over his career, he still has very good speed to be a threat on deep balls in turn that opens up space for Lamb. Stat wise Cooks numbers are as good as Cooper, very little difference between the 2. I don't think this move guarantees anything not did Cooper guarantee anything? Cook is a very talented player and has the numbers to back it up.

Fanbase is never happy. People are screaming for a speedy receiver, get one and it's not enough. Look at what Cooks was traded for outside of the Cowboys trade, 1st and 2nd rd picks, he is a very valuable receiver.

While not a huge Cooks fan he fits a need for something they have not had, which is speed. Also it is another tool they needed last year with a recovering Gallup there was a dearth of WR talent outside the top 2 and really all the WR besides TY were mainly outside WR and all run in the same 4.5-ish range. Either way with this trade the top 3 WR are better today than they were at the end of the season and have some actual speed.

How many times has this been brought up now.
It actually solves a big problem, he brings speed at WR that can actually stretch the field, and can be a home run threat type player.

Many players go to 3 to 6 teams throughout their careers anymore. This is not an issue.

You lost
Me when you said we need Hop or OBJ….we have cried about this team not having vertical speed or anyone that can beat someone over the top. That’s not D Hop or OBJ….that’s Cooks. The Cowboys have Lamb. He’s our game changer.

Disagree.

This last trade was him not wanting to be on a rebuild at this stage in his career.

He wasn't traded for peanuts either...Saints traded him for a 1st and 3rd to patriots. Pats traded him to Rams for 1st and 6th rounder.

Rams traded him for a 2nd rounder.

It has been circumstance in almost all of the situations, not because he wasn't a good player.

DHop and OBJ are not game wreckers. They are both players in the backside of their careers. DHop is not worth the 1st round pick they want and OBJ is a walking ACL tear.

What exactly has OBJ done in last 2 years? DHop got busted juicing and would cost a 2nd round pick most likely.

Why would you rather have Hop?

He hasn't been what you are thinking he is in over two years.
