The Broncos are reportedly interested in Ricky Williams.

While he fits the mold of a Denver running back, it would be surprising if the Broncos didn't address any running back needs in the Draft instead. One thing seems clear: Mike Anderson probably won't be counted on to carry the load again.

If Ricky Williams plays for Denver next year he'll be in the Probowl.

If he has his head together behind that line...holy cow.

It assures they won't be in the TO sweepstakes if they do though. Too many headcases.

Miami better not give Williams to Denver. Denver wont give Miami that much, and Ricky would be a killer behind that blocking schenme.

To me this makes little to No sense....

Broncos get running backs like they are falling out of tree's...
They trade Portis who at the time was like a 23 year old stud...

The 2 guys carrying the load last year rushed for well over 2000 yards....
Why would they need him and why would they give something up to get him and his salary???

They wouldn't have to pay him a ton and he fits their system really, really well.

Well for instance Portis wasn't really the ideal fit for their system.

Still productive but a different player I'd say........

Doesnt make a lot of sense to me. The Dolphins would trade him for a pick or a player ?

Depth at the RB position is what got Wanny into the jam he was in last season. Brown and Williams make a lot of sense.

Williams is making a paltry, 1.2M over the next 2 seasons.

Might be a case of move him before he flakes out or smokes out again.

True, but unlike Me-O, Ricky has had his one issue that hurt his team (albeit a big one). At his price and his potential production/safety vs. net value. It doesnt make sense.

The Carr trade makes more sense to me.

O.k., so let's say that Ricky gets traded to Denver and he puts up ridiculous numbers w/ the aid of Denver's OL and has a long and successful career there.

Hypothetically speaking, if he ends his career as one of the best backs to play the game (numbers-wise), does he make the HOF even after the drug suspensions and him quitting on his team?

Ricky is around 28. I am not sure how much longer his career will last anyway. Curtis Martin is 32 or 33.

He would need around 7000 yds or so to catch Martin. Ricky would need to average around 1350-1400 yds per. I dont see it. Denver recycles backs like Maine recycles bottles.

The Dolphins would be brain dead to trade Ricky to the Broncos. You never trade a good player to a division rival. Never.

They are a Conference rival, not division.

Conference trades happen all the time. Division trades are much rarer.

Tell Ricky there aren't any free dope in Denver. Tell him Mile High has nothing to do with Mary Jane.
