The Bucs fans should be more upset about lack of commitment to the run than our fans!

I was listening to the post-game show on The Ticket, and scratching my head.
Fans were calling in to complain about Garrett's lack of ciommitment to the run. Of all the things to be concerned about, I'd put this one at the bottom of the list.

The reason why we didn't see a lot of time-eating, grind-it-out drives was that three of them resulted in long, quick-strike plays in which Romo took advantage of horrible coverage execution.

On the other hand, our defense allowed the Bucs to run up and down the field, with long, time-eating drives.

The bottom line is that we really didn't have the opportunity to implement a hard-core running game.

Now, on the other side of the ball is where we should have a real concern. What alarmed me was how many times we saw Williams and Ward ripping off chuncks of yardage in the running game. I always feel sick to my stomach when I see those short runs up the gut that should result in no more than 1 or 2 yards, and wind up 4-6 yard plays with the pile being pushed authoritatively backward. We saw this over and over again.

:bang2:

I say to you fellow fans - it is not we who should be upset about a commitment to the running game. The Bucs should have kept punching us right in the mouth by running up the gut until we could stop it.

Mr. Fix It needs to get out a big ol super bar and take it to the middle of our defense - we are soft in the middle, much like our coach.

This for sure. Soft on run defense, soft on coverage down the middle.

After Ware took his shot it looked like he didn't want any part of anything alot of times. Dude was shaken up. I think he can make a big difference across the board, but maybe we can keep him out of coverage situations, please?

OK I am confused Romo threw it 27 times we rushed 23 times and 1 rushing play was Romo so that play was most likely a pass (so is it 28-23 or 27-24 depending on how you look at it)

That is pretty darn balanced in run vs pass some people need to learn what they are talking about

I beg to differ. I was highly irritated at one point in the game. We were not up by much. Got the ball back and Garrett calls three straight passing plays. Gave the ball right back to them, when we should have been running the ball and eating some clock.

Couldn't understand why Brooking was still on the field in obvious passing situations late in the game, but whatever.

I was going to look up the stats, because I figured it was a lot closer than it seemed.

We didn't have any really huge running plays, a couple over 15 yards, but that's all. The perception is skewed though because we had so many big passing plays and some near miss big passes too.

The Offense was very balanced today.

Jason Garrett called a very good game. He got Choice, Barber and Jones involved.

I think people need to realize that you don't want to become too predictable and you want to keep the Receivers in the game by throwing from time to time.

Personally, I felt there were just too many mismatches on the outside for us to just run the ball all the time.

Only problem with running/ short passing game is Garrett needs to learn how to use Felix better.
