I think all but one was a touch back for most returners. Clifton Smith is a top 5 returner.

Can we expect 50% TB's?

If you define Buehler naysayers as posters who thought that having both Nick Folk and him active during games was a waste of a roster, then the answer is yes.

Well looks like a good choice by the coaching staff. In one game it seems as if special teams is light years improved over last year..

Question: Are these kickoffs worthy of a active roster spot in addition to Nick Folk?

 Don't look at me. Of course it is. I'm just curious.
They aren't worth it if our coverage units or run D don't improve. Beuhler was impressive today, but unless he kicks everything seven yards deep, teams are going to bring it out and get big returns. I'd much rather see consistent coverage than a couple of touchbacks.

Their average starting position on the non-touchbacks was the 25. I'll take that every day.

If he hits it right teams have no shot at a return. Even good coverage units slip up now and then

Dallas hasn't proven itself to be a good coverage unit.

Especially on Sunday or Monday!

Special teams coverage units often look the sloppiest on opening day because the only practice they get is the pre-season games.

Thats my point. Buehler hits it right and it doesnt matter what our guys are doing
He's not going to hit it right every time...and teams will bring it out from five yards deep we saw that today.

Where are you naysayers now?!

(And btw, the rain in the second half was simply Buehler willing it to come while the Bucs were on offense. He then ordered the sun to appear once the Cowboys O was on the field again.)

Touchback/3yard deep KR city. I still love this pick.

If only we had Mason Crosby (who just missed a 49 yarder) we wouldn't have a need for two kickers!!!!!!

And when they brought it out, as I noted above, their average starting field position was the 25.

I grant that the coverage doesn't look great but it certainly wasn't awful and you can't argue with the bottom line.

Or can you?

Buehler is the best player on the team, bar none.

Until next year, that is, when we draft Tebow.

Tebow + Buehler = world implosion.

We finished sixth in the NFL in kickoff coverage last season.
