While i have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the effort that the entire team played with last night, it has become evident that this team can not continue to accept the cliches of "good effort", "keep battling and battling", "the right kind of guys" as excuses to continue rolling around in the utter essence of insanity.
You know, that little thing in the dicitionary that tells us the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same things over and over again and expect a different result.

At some point you would expect that a coach at this level who has dealt with this same personnel would start to learn from the mistakes of the past. However the review of last nights game tells us Jason Garrett has learned very little.

1) The fourth down call: In theory i didnt have a problem with going for it on fourth down. Once again though, the play selectioin was terrible. Even if the pass wasnt batted down, it appears from the camera angle shown, that Murray was well covered and had little chance to gain the needed yard. How many times do you need to be told to trust the running game just to go away from it when it mattered most?

2) Game clinching interception: Granted, Orton threw a bad pass. But why put him in that position on first down?? Wouldnt it have been wiser to spread the eagles out and perhaps surprise them with a quick run? Wasnt there a higher percentage pass play to call than that?

3) Play calling-abandoning the run: Early in the game the Eagles displayed little ability to stop the run. Murray was running with an edge not seen all year. Yet again, Garrett allows Callahan to return to his pass happy ways, ignoring the importance of staying out of 3rd and long situations. This directly lead to Orton checking down and throwing routes in the flat with no chance of gaining the first down.

4) Game Management: I dont know what could have been done about the play clock debacle, but he showed little concern for what potentially could have cost them the game.

These factors alone should be grounds to move on from the Jason Garrett era. This team is clearly missing something. The ability to get over the hump has not been shown by this coaching staff. It would only be insanity to continue down this path and expect anything different that what has happened these past three years.

Don't agree with #1, the Eagles were playing run and it was just a great play by the defender. If he gets it to Murray then it is an easy first down.

Agree with #2 completely. Plenty of time on the clock for a few running plays. But, that is just the way Garrett does things.

Agree with #3 completely, but I know that Garrett will simply never stick with the run. Other teams even know this, certain Packers players even talked about it.

#4 - It stinks, but at least it did not cost us.

Jerry is resting his legacy as the guy completely in charge on Garrett, so there is no way he cuts him at this time.

Agreed, JJ has gone all in on Garret. We just have to hope he does eventually figure it all out and becomes a great coach.

wait.. are we still at the point of developing a case.. we could have used the same material from six years back... a least Jerry is now admitting that it's been on-the-job training

Garrett sounds like a snake-oil salesman or a scratched record. Hide your wallet or haven't I heard this before?
